Title: 2944
Post by: Tony on October 14, 2013, 08:12:43 PM
2944 which disappeared without a known disposal from Centrebus in 2010 has been seen today in Couty Durham converted into a mobile caravan

It's far from a waste. It survives into a whole new life.

Thanks for letting me know I'm glad she's surviving somewhere

Well i`ve found a photo of the Suppossed 2944 D944 NDA but I doubt this is the real 2944 D944 NDA. It looks like Mk2 either 2683 or 2757

Looking at this picture of 2757 with Centrebus, the hoppers and the cab window are identical to the green bus pictured. Also, the remains of the no smoking sticker on the 1st hopper window upstairs is in the same location. I would say it is ex-2757, but why would they swap the registration with 2944?

Compared to this pic of 2944

Also note the rear end on the green bus, still in Centrebus livery!

Very strange indeed, that is definitely 2757 carrying 2944's registration! Most obvious give-away is the Timesaver destination box! Either way it looks a bit of a mess

If you think that's odd, look up Essbee Coaches on Flickr, they had a good few ex WMT Nationals, and they had musical reg plates...

Quite a few of these survive but are on their sides forming a "fence" (viewable on google earth). At least 1469, 1801 and 1863 are extant, just.

This is actually 1469..
