QuoteTerrifying moment five children are caught on camera surfing on the back of a bus while wearing rollerskates
The group, aged between 12 and 15, were spotted in Dudley, West Midlands
They were made to clean up the local bus depot by police who caught them
The schoolboys will also have to clean up a fleet of National Express buses
I suppose its one way to catch a bus!
I just saw this, would say they got off lightly when some "bus enthusiasts" on here would love a job cleaning buses all day! Should have fined the little sods too...
Damn chavs. Another way of getting a free ride. But surely it is easier just to walk straight past the driver and tell him to go suck his mum?
I know the kid in the grey coat; he sits next to me in maths

And yet he gets to clean the thing you enjoy most. Violation much.
Being it was a PE Merc, there lucky it didn't catch fire!

Wish it had, just enough to burn their 'parts'
What would of happened if one off them fell under the wheels
of tne bus they couldn't put a claim in
Hope the parents read the roit act wonder if they were copying
some mothers do have em where Frank Spencer is holding on
to the back loader on roller skates
Kids have hitched a ride on brewery drays, milk floats, slow-moving wagons' tailgates, all sorts down the years.
I notice the Daily Mail picked up on the story, and gave it the usual 'end-of-the-world-is-nigh' treatment.
If I'd been driving behind this ensemble I would have had RAGE I expect, but looking at it from a distance I can't help but smile at their cheek and spirit.
Kids have always done this, not all kids, but always some.
Just realised I rode the same bus (1706) on the 244 last night

I trust you held on tightly to the back end ...
EDIT: This story's now made it to the front page of AOL.

Nope, I chose the more conventional method of sitting inside the bus
