Title: NXWM Disposal list
Post by: winston on May 13, 2013, 08:14:54 PM
Tony,

Is 1520 a typo? as 1520 is still in service unless withdrawn during May. Should it be 1522 instead?

Big clear out this month.....

Sort of Typo, me not able to read the handwritten note that was given to me. I have now been advised it should be 1530

Does NXWM issue a vehicle/feet disposal list? If so, how/where can you get it?

Disposals are recorded every month at the bottom on Tony's NX monthly fleet changes on the main site.

Thanks Winston - these are vehicles that are already leaving/have left the fleet. I'm looking for a list of vehicles withdrawn and pending/available for disposal/re-sale.

I used to get a monthly list from Martin Davies (yes, that is going back some time!!!) from where I've obtained vehicles for projects.

If you refer to Tony's fleetlist, all withdraw vehicles are showing as such (now with locations now additionally showing). I don't think there's a specific list anywhere.

Realistically anything stored at Pensnett is most likely being depreciated then scrapped, Miller St is a mix of runners & a scrap line

I have tried to keep tabs on NXWM/NXC fleet allocations and withdrawals - using Tony's website and regular updates, see below, don't take that as the gospel though as locations change from time to time. If I don't know a location I normally put it at the last garage of operation (i.e. recently withdrawn 4339 may not actually be at Wolverhampton). Some 90-odd buses are listed - but as Winston states, you'd be better off just looking at the main website for specific details. I started this as a Word document years ago (when Tony was using fotopic etc) and have kept with it, for a bit of fun more than anything else.

They don't.

Because of the large amount of new vehicles over the last 5 years withdrawals have overtaken depreciation. Any bus numbered above 4260 has a lump of value still attached to it which is more than it would get if sold, hence why only seriously damaged buses above this have been sold.

4148; 4176; 4177 & 4185 are being kept in case they are needed for reinstatement, all other withdrawn double decks below 4260 will be leaving soon.

Thanks for the further updates; I did see 4326 being at MS on the main site - dunno how I missed that! I altered the list to record the sale of 4206/17 (for scrap). 4316's move to PN I've noted and I assume 4339 will be heading there soon if not now. I was playing devils advocate slightly by posting that list - in the hope of a few further updates!!

Re. vehicles already sold-on by NXWM, I've attempted to record the initial sale (not further sales down the line though) of several recent batches, I have this, in a broad order of dates, for the Volvo B7TL 4225-4304 batch for example:

4225/4250 sold to PVS, Barnsley for scrap 10/19
4236 sold to PVS, Barnsley for scrap 9/19
4246/4251 sold to PVS, Barnsley for scrap 8/19
4247/4248 sold to PVS, Barnsley for scrap 6/19
4234/4260 sold to PVS, Barnsley for scrap 5/19
4249 sold to PVS, Barnsley for scrap 4/19
4229/4231 sold to PVS, Barnsley for scrap 3/19
4242 sold to PVS, Barnsley for scrap 1/19
4226/4252 sold to PVS, Barnsley for scrap 12/18
4227/4233/4235 sold to PVS, Barnsley for scrap 10/18
4232 sold to PVS, Barnsley for scrap 8/17
4238(road accident damage) sold to PVS, Barnsley for scrap 2/17
4255(electrical fire damage 17/9/16) sold to PVS, Barnsley for scrap 12/16

With the Volvo B7TL/Plaxton President batch I tried to record just the first sale from NXWM - not any subsequent sales/changes should there be any - as it starts to become information overload. All this stuff can be found on Tony's website lists anyway.

You need to find an accountant to answer that!

I have never got a proper answer

The fleet has changed massively since Martin's day and probably easier back then to keep tabs - you're doing a grand job!!!!

I'm not but I'm hazarding a guess - 18 yr book life currently = 10/01 (is that around 4260)? Unless damaged beyond economical repair. Presumably the parts yielded whilst in storage enable more to be fit out of other vehicles. However there must be a notional (or rented) value of the land they are stood on to be taken into account in the calculation.

All of 4225-4304 were delivered over a short time, but for some reason 4260 upwards have different accounting procedures applied.
