Title: Additional 140?
Post by: 37351ml on November 19, 2012, 01:59:05 PM
For some weeks now, I have noticed  an additional 140 from Birmingham - Dudley @ 08.30 that is not shown in the timetable and is worked by a WB dd, does it go onto the 241 upon arrival at Dudley, and does it stay on there all day?

thanks

John

I don't think it stays on the 140/241 all day, it is just a couple of peak hour trips.

The running board is (not sure of the board number)

140E 0649 journey Blackheath - Dudley
140 0718 journey Dudley - Birmingham
140 0820 journey Birmingham - Dudley

241 0923 journey Dudley - Halesowen
241 1005 journey Halesowen - Dudley
Runs private to depot

Always the same driver.

Pensnett then take over the journey providing the 1038 140 journey Dudley - Birmingham.
Pensnett provide the peak bus p.m.

Yes this has been discussed before, same guy every day and he has to be the best driver out there, friendly, drives smoothly, lets elderly people take there time, keeps papers in the cab for regulars etc... And he's usually got a Gemini but on rare occasions a B7 ALX

Slightly off topic, but I've also noticed there appears to be two extra journeys on the 63 which are not timetabled around 5.00pm.  I've spotte a 63E to Longbridge, followed by another 63E to Rubery FlyOver.

I've checked the timetables on NWM and neither of these journeys appear.

Could they be buses adjusted for late running?
