Hi there; I noticed today whilst sitting in 2114 and 4905 s cabs, that there was a third pedal. Is this the coin release pedal for the money to deposited into the money box or is it to change the fare stage on the ticket machine. Could someone please clarify? Thanks in advance

Isn't that the pedal to open the doors?
Pensnett is my local garage. Favourite bus of all time is Fleetline 6360 (KON 360P).

4905 has 5 pedals, brake and accelerator to the right of the steering column. To the left is a large black square which is the door open/close pedal. A large round silver one which is the radio speech button, and a little round one which is to adjust the steering column.

2114 is missing the steering column adjust one as this is a lever on the side of the column

I had to read that twice then. B7RLE's/B5lh have steering wheel column adjust pedal next to the column halfway up. It looks like a badly placed clutch (which is what I thought it was when they were new at BC!) Additionally, the B6/10 Aldo have a similar pedal.

One thing Daimler Mercedes Benz are good at is producing excellent Diesel engines, I do miss the sound of the 0405n for all its faults you couldn't knock that 12 litre engine.

Would it be possible to press the little pedal accidentally and start to adjust the steering column whilst the vehicle is in motion?

No, it will only work when the handbrake is on, and on some tridents even then it won't work and you have to empty the air tanks first before it will move

Which is a fault. Try just isolating it, and trying again. Don't rush or you will have to drain it.

Thanks for the replies; just found one of the photos of the pedal area on 2114 (http://www.flickr.com/photos/97285854@N08/10099935606/) and there are two little buttons. I assume one is the door open/close but what is the other?

But you are not going to accidently lift your leg half way up the steering column to rest it on the Volvo one, where you can easily rest your foot on the AD one

Am I correct that the doors on the Enviro 400s can be controlled either by the foot pedal mentioned above or buttons on the control panel to the right of the driver?
