This has now got high back seats upstairs now. Looks tons better by the looks of it. Now all that needs sorting out now is the livery!

The Archive / Wayfarer ticket machines
May 05, 2012, 07:33:55 PM
I went on the Solihull Signature routes today, including 82 and the S2, plus the 30 a little while ago. The Mercedes are excellent especially on the 60mph section! I noticed however on one Citaro (60 reg), the Solo SRs and the Versas that often there was a squeak every time we ran over rough road. It was coming from the drivers' cab and was quite severe on the Versa. I've deducted that this is due to the ticket machines vibrating and squeaking, being present on some Scanias too with the same type. Could someone confirm this as it is something in the drivers' cabs. It is annoying sometimes but is made up for by the quality!

The Archive / Optare Solos

Which Solo is better, the SR or Classic and why? I prefer the classics from 2009 onwards. The SRs in Solihull are not too good. Shaky, noisy and have door and engine problems, even struggling up hills. The Norfolk Coasthoppers (went on holiday this week)are the same age (2010/2009) and are brilliant. no rattling despite country roads, speedy and sound excellent. Even had wooden effect flooring and excellent murel on the back of local areas. The bus was also on time both times which helps ;) The one I went on was YJ10 EYB, http://www.flickr.com/search/?w=all&q=YJ10EYB&m=text. So which do you prefer and what operator is it?

The Archive / Rattles and Squeaks.

I'm sure this is a question asked many times, but why do virtually all buses rattle or squeak inside? I notice that the only buses that rarely do this is Citaros and some Crusaders. But every other bus has some panel rattle, or something clanging or squeaking from the cab. The Scanias used to have this problem at AG but the depot have solved the squeaks luckily and are now the best in the fleet. Surely it must annoy some passengers and I spoke to a driver once who says he just turns off from it! Really I don't mind the odd rattle on the Liberators or Metrobuses, but when it is 12 reg buses, well can't they sort it? E.g, fit some soft foam which reduces the vibration.

Other Operators / Banga buses
April 08, 2012, 09:41:14 AM
Two days ago I travelled to Bilston on the 34 and saw some Banga buses. However the two I saw were unusual. They were larger and one I saw was a Optare delta I think. he next one was parked up at the bus station was of medium size and in the yellow livery. I do not know what type it was. Can anyone enlighten me?
