I remember the 'old' 258 route that ran from Wolverhampton to Birmingham (before it was shortened to Merry Hill to Birmingham).

I'm pretty sure that took around two and half hours end to end.

Went via nearly everywhere lol

Nope, not for Birmingham routes:

Quote from: Celestial Toymaker on March 25, 2024, 07:15:56 PMI see E062 has had a nasty shunt, front end badly damaged by the looks, platform appears to be pushed right back and not much left below the windscreen, from what ive seen......

ive seen less damage finish vehicles off, is this likely the end of E062
This has already been discussed in the Coventry garage thread, the bus is not being written-off and will have the front-end of the body rebuilt at Walsall by NX's in-house team.

Quote from: Jay71 on March 23, 2024, 05:48:45 PMTony,  you've forgotten one thing. Not everybody wants to have electric buses on all routes.

Tell that to TfWM then, they're the ones insisting that all buses in the West Midlands should be zero-emission by 2030.

You're just making some baseless claim about electric buses being "super-slow" when they're not.

Quote from: Jay71 on March 23, 2024, 10:34:21 AMWe  can now look forward to having super slow buses on the 110. This is great(not)
Quote from: Lukeee on March 23, 2024, 03:39:03 PMHave you drove an electric bus?
Or even travelled on one?

They can be quite nippy when they need to be!

Generally drivers are specially trained to drive 'defensively', in order to best maintain battery charge.

Quote from: Sh4318 on March 23, 2024, 11:24:50 AMSo I'm guessing that's a no? I was just wondering from the perspective that it's a bus and not a car therefore you may not be able to make the turn in one go
It's easily done, I've watched them do it.

If you look on Google Maps you can see the marks on the road surface where vehicles are regularly turning round there.

You cannot view this attachment.

As already been pointed out, the 60 has been terminating and turning around there for many years, if there was any issue then the route would have had to have been changed.

Quote from: Sh4318 on March 22, 2024, 11:11:19 PMDo deckers on the 60 struggle with turning around at the Cranes Park terminus, or is the crossroad wide enough?
Why would deckers struggle?

Everyone seems to forget they are shorter than a full-length single deck, double decks are as manoeuvrable as a midi-bus.

1917 - no sound is heard when pressing the STOP bell button, or if it does it's very dull and barely audible.

Seems like a strange 'swap', unless there is some other reason for this, to do with 4722 being in a heritage livery?

(Upcoming photo-shoot or private hire?)

Quote from: Steve3229vp on March 20, 2024, 04:20:30 PMIn April until June Diamond is diverting the 16A out of City via Carrs Lane due to Metro work. So all other buses will presumably follow the same diversion, That's lot of buses using Carrs Lane !
Track works across Moor Street Queensway from 7th April 'until Autumn'.

There will be various stop closures and diversions during that time:

Am I right in assuming that those highlighted in red have been liveried up, equipped, and ready for service?

I suppose the next question is the one everyone's dying to ask, any idea when these might start actually entering service?

I did see a comment elsewhere earlier this year that claimed we were looking at March for first entry into service, but I suspect it won't be until at least after Easter now.

Quote from: danny on March 18, 2024, 06:04:37 PMHi, quick question for Drivers or passengers who use the 10A, how do buses turn arround to come back to Wolverhampton in Partingham, from what I can see on Google earth there is either a small pull in by the shops but looks a little tight for an eclipse or in the mouth of the road near the Pigot arms, bit random but saves a trip to find out, thank you muchly for your replies in advance 😉
A quick look on Google Streetview at the most recent image (March 2023), from the wet tyre tracks I would deduce that's where the buses are turning around.

YW 1931 is on the 27 today, it appears to be correctly reporting the journeys it is operating, but the GPS location is stuck on Stoney Lane.

Looks like it's been like this since Friday 8th March.
