Ive been looking at the fleet list and have worked out the SHORT-TERM vehicle replacement needs of subsidiaries. This is REGARDLESS of whether they are in line for disposal.

None of the vehicles need necessarily to be new .  I will specify.

LEICESTER- None

MIDLAND RED(even though they are not!)
They need 7 LF cascaded doble decks and 20 LF single decks to replace Dennis Lances step and SLF.

POTTERIES

Seven VOLVO OLYMPIANS, P reg or newer to replace the last five Leyland Olympians, the Volvo Citybus and an L-reg Volvo Olympian.

This wll convert all bar Potteries to low floor and eliminate the Dennis Lance and Volvo Citybus

Aren't Potteries due some B7TL/Wright Gemini from First West Yorkshire @ Rock Ferry & the 2 remaining 54 plate Gemini's from First Northmapton

Winston-  Chester & Wirral have received 54-reg double decks but are no longer part of First Potteries region.  The replacement dds are needed for Newcastle-under-Lyme depot.  I suggest Volvo Olympians as they are for schools use.

Newcastle are getting Leicester Geminis ... and there are rumoured to be Geminis due for Worcester.

Been spending some time in Kidderminster lately, they really need full length low floor SD's (not Darts!) to convert the X3 to low floor and increase the capacity on the 292/303.

Sadly knowing First it will probably be more 2nd hard darts to replace Lances where they will just cram everybody in!

jc

They could do with swapping some Darts and Enviros between Redditch and Kidderminster, The E300's work the X3 well, and the Darts are ideal for the 55/6 in Redditch.

Bob

are the ex leicester B7TLs only going to be mainly used on school work? like the olympians are. that would be real waste as being 54 plates theyre newer than most of PMTs clapped out crappy darts & scanias!!

jc at somepoints during the day the 55(A/S)/56(A/S) will need larger vechcials due more people using the service granted at off peak yes smaller buses would be better but at peak times ie mornings and when the schools start to leave they can get busy quickly and then in to the evening. I would have said it was a catch 22.
Midland Red West, one of the best Companies to serve Redditch, with some of the best buses.

Majority of the workings could be dart on the 55/6 however as with any service there are those that need to have a bigger bus, there are placing journeys currently that use deckers.
Then51 and 146 could easily be darts at most times bar a few workings.

Update,

believed that 4 deckers (three went a day or two ago) have left Leicester for potteries. We have received one single decker in return... what a farce....

Gemini's? Are they converting Potteries routes  to Decker operation? Theyve already had some P reg Olympians for schools work and are running Gemini's on the Keele service. They should convert the 20 to Crewe to double deck operation

I thought they were going down to help get rid of the Olympians???

either way, we could do with them here, or at least more buses. They only just withdrew (officially) our last dennis from Kidderminster (Tony put it in the fleetlist somewhere)

that bus was probably usable and it think it was a low floor one.... so why couldn't we have it back?!?!

54 plate Gemini's for school work would be an utter waste , as theyd be newer than a lot of the Potteries fleet

The 25 to Keele University is where the Geminis are going
