Quote from: winston on January 17, 2023, 11:04:37 AMServices 21, 163, 520, 561, 562 and 575 are proposed to be withdrawn.

Services 8, 36, 37, 524 and 582 will each be reduced from every 12 to every 15 minutes.

TfGM will be subsidising all the routes to be withdrawn by both Diamond Bus North West & Vision Bus, no confirmation of who will be operating them yet though. The DBNW 163 will continue on a reduced 15min frequency, 21 will also continue by DBNW.

Curiously the Vehicle Operator Licensing website states the other services proposed to be withdrawn has them still registered  with Diamond Bus North West from 16th April 2023.

To be fair to Diamond and Vision, I can see why they have done it. If the commercial routes aren't making money anymore (whether that be actually making money or smart accounting so that they make no money), why keep sustaining a loss when in a few months time, the routes get kind of seized. You'll get no thanks, no bonus or reward, you take all the losses and then TFGM turn up and say 'Goodbye, enjoy your new home'.

How long would you as a business take a loss when you know that in a matter of months, you lose a major part of your business. If franchising wasn't a think, smart accounting, some lucrative tenders wins and maybe working with the govt schemes could bring the routes back to profitability but what is the point in doing any of that when in a few months, no matter if you put billions into the route or zero, you'll end up with the exact same result, nothing.

Low height Streetdeck 40714 was tracking back in Bolton this morning. Does anyone know if this was for real or was it another vehicle tracking as it?

Rotala have this afternoon annouced to the stock market, that they have acquired the Go Goodwins Eccles depot opposite their existing DBNW Eccles depot & will also be leasing a small depot in Central Bolton:

Why is the route branding on the Manchester buses above the top deck windows would it not have been better on the bottom or above the lower windows
All views are my own and does not represent the views of any company/ business that i maybe be working with

Didn't the driver realise the height of the bus & the bridge height must have a route that take dead to depot

EK40

Apparently the bridge was in a drivers handbook to avoid because its claimed a few doubles before last being a GNE B9TL

so why go that way if it was in drivers handbook as they must of had poster up in the depot as well to warn drivers of the bridge

Whats even worse is the bridge has those height check bars guarding it on either side
