dda rules

tony has posted a pic of banga travels mercedes vario today on facebook, commenting about the new dda rules. just to clarify, should all single decks now be dda compliant?

No, only buses under 7.5t with a capacity of 22 or more passengers

so basically bangas fleet mainly should all be dda? however at least they have an identity, and dont behave too badly compared to another local operator who still has a step entrance dart out even after all their recent purchases

If the dart is over 7.5t it has another year it can be used, yes I saw it as well today

Yes, plus they are experiencing capacity issues in some areas due to having too many single deckers in the fleet

And are transferring darts around that are from 1998 to squeeze another year out of them...

Oh dear not good. They introduced a few deckers to the potteries, for the uni services.  They then re did the network and relaunched the uni service by linking it with the Crewe one to make it cross city and resprayed some buses ( the newest being ten years old some being now 13 a pretty poor advert for a new network) and the deckers appear anywhere now on routes that dont generally need them. Maybe their deckers being low floor might now get moved elsewhere
