Great  ;) Glad to have more Scanias at YW - favourite single decker at NX apart from the Wright Eclipse Urban (56 regs). At WA I assume the arrival of the new Enviro 200s and some Geminis transferring in have allowed this.

WA haven't received any E200's yet, however, when they do I would think those would allow the B6LE to be withdrawn. I would guess it is ex WB Gemini that are allowing the Omnilinks to cascade to YW

I'm a bit confused about how WA is going to do this swap.

Assuming these are permanent swaps from WA to YW and based on the fact that fleet blocks seem to be kept together - WA would then be losing 7 OmniLinks.
By my calculations there are currently 40 WA boards each day that should in theory be OmniLink operated - 21 on the 4/H/M, 8 on the 301 & 11 on the 311/313, yet there would only be 35 buses to operate these.

There would then be 14 B10Ls available to operate the 12 boards on the 34/38/39, which over the coming months must surely be due to be reduced.

Obviously my count on the numbers going to YW may be wrong - but surely older vehicles are going to have to replace OmniLinks on at least 5 boards each day (possibly more depending on how the B10s are behaving on the 34/38/39)?

Basically WA will put more deckers on routes they ought to be on anyway. I would think that B7RLE's may appear on the OmniStink routes more frequently. All the same Walsall will have the last hurrah of B10L operations, rather fitting given they were the first to have them in WM

Pardon the pun but I guess it really is the end of the road now for the B10Ls :( I am glad though we are having more Scanias to replace them but I was expecting some SP10s rather than BX09s  :o
I suspect routes like the 10/10A may revert to deckers and B7RLE could perhaps become more dominant on the 311/313 again? Pity really I'd like to see deckers return to Bradford Place on a more permanent basis.

Some interesting info there Lynx, cheers. There have been a few deckers on the 6 recently so could just be YW are short of Scanias, not forgetting the 84 is always a scania too.

The fact that 1800 is on loan at YW probably confirms the fact that YW are running a bit short of Scanias at the minute due to MOTs, Services etc. Although I think 1898 and 1901 will be permanent. Caught the 6 this morning as usual, and instead of the routine Scania, 4385 turned up....suspension was awful. Hoping there's a Scania back on tomorrow.

Now I get why the Scanias nowadays come on the 3, they suit the 6, 27 and 84 best. Not 3.

They are more suited to the 3 than 6, although past Shirley well a solo would be sufficient! Truth be told, I wouldn't think it a bad move if all the Stratford road routes were converted to single deckers.

I don't really like the idea of Scanias on the 3 but ok! Also the Daimler was at Duxford today, had a good thrash, good braking but slow acceleration. The best thrash from a bus older than 20 years old. Even better then one of the Metrobuses I was on.

Hmm each to their own I guess, I personally think the 3 worked better with singles, 1788-1804(-02) seemed suited to the 2/3/3A but sadly they were only there temporarily. The way the route operates today, I am glad I no longer rely on it!

I too preferred the 2/3 etc. as it was in 2010 - shame that batch left YW. Had 1899 today on the 6 - really fast bus - never known such a fast bus up the Stratford Road. It is a good bus - although needs some minor attention to the suspension as it occasionally clunks and rides a bit harshly. Will benefit from the excellent YW maintenance I am sure.
