electro diesel

The Electro-diesel pairing seen at Birmingham New st in 1997 (according to a reliable source) were :28th January 97  on the 14.20pm Brighton-Manchester,(deputising for a cl 47)...and the pair that failed on route were 73105 and 73117 on the 19th July 1998 on a Poole- Manchester service.   I personally recorded 73105/73134 back in November 1996 on the Eastleigh- Bescot Route-Learning trips. but I'm sure there were others. I know tony has a photo of 73106 taken at saltley in the early 80's..I saw that myself.. The amazing thing about these loco's is that the majority are still in service on the network and may well be around for some time yet.

I photographed 73134 &73108 double heading a rake of B.R.Mark I coaches
passing through Berkswell Station destined for Birmingham New Street.
The photo is dated 21/8/1982. At the time many of us thought it was the first
working of Class 73's into New Street.
