Are you sure?, here is the timetable starting from 24th April from TfWM, if it is right it's still every 20 minutes file:///C:/Users/mb012/Downloads/National%20Express%20West%20Midlands_27.pdf

It's mentioned on this page:
https://www.tfwm.org.uk/plan-your-journey/ways-to-travel/buses-in-the-west-midlands/upcoming-bus-changes/

Evening journeys revised in Northfield & Mon - Sat daytime freq reduced to every 30 min

I have previously seen on the bus service registrations for both the 20 and 27 that variations have been registered to amend timetable from 24th April.
My locals:
2 - Birmingham to Maypole | 3 - Birmingham to Yardley Wood
11A/C - Birmingham Outer Circle | 27 - Yardley Wood to Frankley
76 - Solihull to Northfield | 169 - Solihull to Kings Heath

Quote from: Stu on April 26, 2022, 07:06:04 PMThanks for the insight, I wasn't complaining really, despite their age its nice having Tridents back regularly on the 2 and 3 at YW, which from my own observations and experiences are getting busier again, certainly at peak times at least.
4612 was on the 6 today to.
With its grey destination display.

Interesting that it keeps the same number.
As I guess First would run a 144 Worcester to Catshill and NX 144 Bromsgrove to Longbridge.
2 sections with same number but through journeys on one ticket no longer possible?

To be honest, I thought a different service number would have been more appropriate, 44 perhaps? (fits in with other Longbridge area numberings too)

I understand this is an 'emergency tender' so no doubt its being provided on a 'use it or lose it' basis. So it remains to see how successful it turns out.

If it does prove a success, perhaps with a bit of tweaking to the 27 or 45/47 between Longbridge and Cofton Hackett, the 20 could be revised to run between the QE and Bromsgrove via this 144 route.

Apparently it will be the 144A.

Is it interworking with another route, or is it running dead from Yardley Wood to Longbridge?

SEVERNLINK

There's a photo on the Midland Red forum of 4544 in Bromsgrove Bus Station today on route learning duties and was displaying 144A Longbridge Railway Station.
So is going to be 144 or 144A as the routes differ slightly on leaving Bromsgrove before joining up a mile or so up the road :undecided:

First will be operating all their 144A journeys as 144 from Sunday, so hopefully there shouldn't be much confusion.

Well, if the NXWM service is the 144A, it means that next week the current 144 route will be the 144A route, while the current 144A route will be the 144 route!  Might using the number 43 be better?

Anyway, Worcestershire County Council have announced that the service will run for six months, and the timetable will appear shortly.  It has all the hallmarks of a last-minute change of mind and, therefore, an emergency tender.

It will be interesting to see whether double decks will appear on the service.  West Midlands Travel have run to Bromsgrove before (some of us may remember the 145, 202 and 318) but I think these were single deck only.

Quite likely to be Tridents. There is no vehicle type specified in the tender

I really like this idea and would perhaps make the route more popular and worthwhile in the longer term....

And with Interworking with the 27 would allow easier driver changeovers at the Garage.

I remember the 145, 202 (and sister service 201) and 318 well - they were all single deckers. I think the closest WMT have got to Bromsgrove with a DD was the short-lived 945 Timesaver service that ran as far as Barnt Green.
