National Express West Midlands / NX Facebook page

Does anyone there actually look at the information they post?

Theyve posted 2 Facebook messages promoting places in  South Staffordshire, involving the X51, where it is going to be difficult to get there using NX, as they dont operate at the times or direction needed!

Bearing in mind it has been reported in the local rag that theres only going to be around 850 spaces available locally around Bescot next Saturday, is there going to be extra buses/extra capacity on routes around there(45) & is there changes to stopping arrangements around there?

Does anyone have the link please?

Any chance it could be made as a 'sticky' please?

Any West Midlands operators besides NX, still use roller blinds?

Excepting the all night Birmingham services, when is the latest normal timetabled journey at night?

Do all final journeys tend to be leaving terminus around 1130pm at night, or is there anything later normally?

(I know the final journey on the Bloxwich corridor is a 302 leaving Walsall at 1130pm, but can't remember if the return journey runs empty or in service as far as the depot!)

I can think of the Tracline Metrobuses plus 2791 which was based at Walsall too.

Was there anything earlier?

Just passed me at Wednesbury Parkway heading north.

Had Metroline in the back window!

Does anyone actually see these out & about?

I normally see the Walsall one between 630am & 645am coming up Bloxwich Road in Leamore towards the depot some mornings during my commute, normally an Omnilink!

There was 2 calls from a 'Tony in Cannock' this morning on Hunted, the treasure hunt thing.

The second call, they were trying to find somewhere in Londonderry & the 120 route was mentioned.

Was that 'our Tony' or just coinciental?

The Archive / So did anyone go to Aston Manor today?
August 03, 2014, 03:14:30 PM
I got as far as Walsall then picked up a message on Facebook saying they wasn't running the Walsall free bus or the Park & Ride today,  even though it was the Cannock Chase & Chasewater runs.

They apologised for the confusion but it would be interesting to see how many people made the trip after all.

Suspect it won't be the usual amounts.

I could have gone on the normal bus as far as Aldridge but wasn't in the mood so did a bit of shopping & went home.

Bearing in mind the current upgrade,  plus a new station for Bloxwich & slight improvement on Central Drive bridge, is it likely Centro may look at service provision around there or is it more likely they will concentrate any improvements on the Mossley Estate route,  which is ajaicent to Bloxwich North station instead?

The Archive / Non standard (to me!) bus stops

Any idea why one of the stops in Lichfield Road, Rushall & 2 in Dyas Road, Kingstanding are different to your bog standard bus stop?

Normal bus stop pole but white box with a little aerial on top.

(Real time maybe,  but why ain't there more of them about? )

Is there any reason why the information point at the above has the bus timetable leaflets for Walsall 8/8a/89, Birmingham 37, Wolverhampton 59 & Sandwell 48?

Surely the information point should have at least the  leaflets for 38/335/336 , 40/41, 529 & 637 as the services actually serving the hospital,  or is there a reason?

Talking to the nephew today and he told me this.

He has to prove to the dole that he's been on a course so he has to prove this by sending his bus tickets in for reimbursement.

Ok, I said.

He has to hand in his ticket on the return journey.

Some drivers let him have half a ticket back, some don't.

What's the official view?

The 311/313 reliability from Wednesbury to Walsall at peak time evening leaves a lot to be desired.

I can walk to Great Bridge from work but is there any point if it's just as bad!

The Archive / This month's Buses magazine

There's a letter in there,  referring to a Merseyside Oap pass holder having trouble getting his pass to recognise in certain parts of the country, including the Nx Walsall services.

Something to do with an issue (or non issue, in Nx's case!) of a ticket.

I know my mother's had something similar when using Arriva's buses to and from Cannock.

Any ideas why Nx cannot issue this ticket?

( Didn't buy the mag, so if I've missed bits, I apologise in advance. )

Arriva / Arriva Bus App
January 15, 2014, 06:53:28 AM
Anyone looking at the live bus map?

How much of the Cannock & Wednesfield fleet are able to display this information?

(Shame the Nx app can't display the same information! )
