Reported changes at Oswestry are 2943/4 to Shrewsbury due to additional Park & Ride requirements and 3761/2 in from Cannock as replacements.

Another 2 Solos at Cannock they got 2408 2409 from Thurmaston

These are understood to have replaced 3761 and 3762 which are welcome additions at Oswestry  :)

Surprised it made it to Newport let alone Stafford!

When it was in Oswestry 12 months ago it would regularly appear on the 70/70A Oswestry - Shrewsbury as they struggled to find an allocation for it, it was far too small for the peak 70 workings and would annoy the punters (myself included). All that said when at Oswestry it was fast and reliable as hell.

2740 was noted back in Telford on Saturday, on route 7. Don't be fooled by it showing on the BusTimes tracker as still running at Cannock (as it was today) as it was running as fleetnumber '7000' when I saw it a few times (unless it moved back since Saturday!).

3756 YJ61 FEF appeared on the 70 Oswestry - Shrewsbury by late afternoon today after going on the Wrexham services first thing, must say VDL SB200, Wright Pulsars are much more preferable on the 70/70A over Versas and Scanias!

Shrewsbury optare solo 2535 on the x5 service from Telford this evening
Saw that myself, did look out of place. The reason will be heavy congestion in Shrewsbury last few days in getting around Abbey Foregate and up Wyle Cop due to Castle Walls been closed, X4/X5 running at times 20 to 30 minutes late. Yesterday 2976 got placed onto the 436 for the very same reason with 3695 getting very late in due to traffic.

Is 4803 likely to be a regular on the 70 over Christmas do you know? @Depotosw
Hi, best bet if strays out will be the 53 Ellesmere but but always possible on the 70/70A but not been common this year. 4803 spent the day on 53 last Saturday.

Noticed recently that the 15:45 19 Shrewsbury - Lightmoor - Telford and 17:20 return has been operated by Shrewsbury depot and no Telford as in the past, this this a recent development?

The rest of the 19 is Telford operated.

I am not an expert but Midlands Saver Tickets should be accepted on Wrexham buses, but in reality I suspect their drivers wouldn't see many of these products.

The only Midlands tickets that would be valid along this corridor would be the West Midlands products and if a customer has one of these then they are more likely to be travelling outside of the Wrexham Local Zone towards Oswestry. If you are travelling wholly within the Wrexham Local Zone you would purchase a local product.

Thank you for the reply Simon, I know previously they were able to accept the tickets on the older machines via a 'Arriva Midlands' option after been shown it once by a driver when using a Midlands ticket on the common section of the 5. As a side note, can I say the English and Welsh bilingual notices applied internally to the Oswestry fleet are a very nice touch indeed.

One of the Centro's is in paint already and one has been retrimmed already.  We did not recieve them in a good state - one needs a new engine already as well.

Refurb plan for next year not agreed yet but if something really needs doing we will do it anyway.

A side note to this, I travelled on 3841 on the 74 on Saturday and whilst a nice vehicle, it was seriously let down by the very worn seat moquette, particularly sitting on the seat next to the emergency exit, it was that worn the underlining grey was more a feature, also did 3845/6 when they first came too and it was a similar case with those.

Could you confirm if the former Arriva Southern Counties sister vehicles, 3742/3/4 moved to join them to become 3842/3/4?

Thank you, Chris

Hi Simon, cross border question linked with Oswestry. Historically Midlands Day Savers, Weekly etc have been accepted on the common sections along the 2/2A/2C on the Arriva Cymru, Wrexham operated routes 3/4 Penycae and 5 Llangollen, since the change to Ticketer, is this still the case? Now I know Oswestry issue the Arriva North West & Wales set of tickets including the Wrexham local range and have acceptance from Newbridge onto Wrexham.

Is there any thread on this site that can be a safe space away from NX myopia?
Well said!

They don’t really have certain routes that they’re allocated to but there’s usually one on the 1/2.

The Cadets also do get into the mix on the 7.

2702 was on the 19 today, noted at the Shrewsbury end of the route.

They don't just appear in the 1, there was 1 of them on the 60  the other day

A visit on Friday I had 3845 on the 826 an 3846 on the 74, nice vehicles but would welcome a little TLC in the future. I did also see 3841 on the 60 and 826. Are 3842/3 here yet?
