Garage threads / Re: Acocks Green Garage

Quote from: Celestial Toymaker on May 03, 2024, 05:37:31 PMIn recent years (before the split) The Circle had become intensely unreliable, often i waited for a bus 45 minutes to the Hour, the display says one will be along in 5 minutes or whatever but nothing came along, no social media info on why its not running, phone AG Garage they say its reported as running with no issues,
The Following day it said there might be delays "yesterday"

The 80 has become as bad, often buses have just ignored stops either when trying to get off or when waiting to get on,
i recently inquired from the driver when i was over carried by 5 stops on the 80 - the response was "we are allowed to delete stops if we are running late in order to keep time, as long as we do not delete timing points !"

REALLY ??!!
The 80s drivers reply is news to me, as far i am aware you can't keep folks on a bus against there will, i drop off folks away from stops i just make sure its by the foot path etc , i,ve seen people throw up just after letting them off etc, some one having a  panic attack episode they need to get off

Quote from: Wumpty on April 04, 2024, 10:53:22 AMPedestrians tend to forget that bus drivers are human too and can't stop a bus on a sixpence.

NX Bus offer an excellent counselling service to any staff member that feels they need it, especially in cases like these.

Good to hear the driver is back at work
They do to be fair, WB use a place not far from M5 junc 1/ Sportsman pub,  Midland summat or other

Quote from: BlackCountryBusSpotter on March 26, 2024, 05:38:18 PMA man has been hit by a bus in Smethwick NX 82/87 Branded MMC Involved
https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/black-country/smethwick-high-street-crash-live-28891297

i recently had a chat with the driver of the bus involved in this incident and hes ok doing well back out driving etc, Police having reviewed all the evidence cleared him of all fault as pedestrian didn't even look to see if any traffic was approaching from the right before stepping off the foot path straight into that bus.

4960, regarding indicator stalks, in my case every modern bus since the 4000s have had indicator stalks mounted on the left side of the steering column, at WB 2 4900s i believe have had new indicator stalks mounted on the right most annoying i spent the whole time on that bus looking for the phamtom stalk, my left hand just constantly reaching out for the stalk that simply wasn't there. It just done my nut in. I assume shortage of correct parts supply. It makes you understand why bus makers build cabs that are universal across different model ranges. Something as simple as stalk being moved to the opposite side just throws you off nuts.

Quote from: TGZac on March 19, 2024, 03:53:32 PMJust seen 4946 in wrap pass me on the 63. Does not look any better than in pictures. I know it's temporary and I'd rather see a grey wrap than battered red+white/crimson paint but it looks awful.
Totally agree its awful saw it yesterday on Smallbrook Queensway  as bad as the red/white wraps back in day

74 seems to have come out 1st.
last 18 months 82/87 has just gone nuts in terms of passenger numbers, many of the new punters are folks with study visas which is being abused to the max by agents thanks to TORY policies for cheap labor
