Just noticed that we have 119 on line today, most for quite a while, strange there seem a high number of guests (88 when I was writing this), pity they couldn't be encouraged to join us.

According to a report on Midlands Today, National Express are to start accepting contactless payement, starting with a route in Coventry early next year.

What is worrying is the attitude of one of the people interviewed who was virtually saying that payment by cash should no longer be accepted, surely Birmingham can't go like London!

Received an email from NWM earlier today asking me to complete a survey about my last bus journey and the facilities provided,

Of interest where certain questions which implied, would i be able to pay a higher fare if in return

              all buses had CCTV

you could pay the driver without the need for a security screen (and the way the cartoon pic looked, actually pay the driver the money as opposed to cash vaults??)

               Conductors on the bus.

I do find it slightly worrying that NWM can waste money on surveys like this asking to me rather daft questions. Yes CCTV is a good idea, but surely the screens are there for a drivers security and they ain't going to be to happy if they are removed, and conductors on buses, are we going backwards in time?

Singapore is having a bus carnival today at which their new buses and new fleet colour were unveiled. For those who may not be aware Singapore is moving gradually to a contracted model for their bus network with new area contracts so far awarded to Tower Transit and Go Ahead.

The new fleet colour, voted for by the public, will be green and their new double deckers will have three doors and 2 staircases.

For anyone who is interested, copies of working timetables for the underground are available here.
