The Hinckley depot moved yesterday from Jacknell Road to Goose Lane in Barwell. The lease was up on the Jacknell Road site at the end of next week.
The 2 Scanias are still due to go to Derby but have not gone yet.

From what I have read on the competition and markets authority section of the gov.uk website a decision for phase 1 is due this coming Monday (5th May) but as it's a bank holiday it could be delayed until Tuesday.

Just been on Uk Buses fleet list website I noticed they done a mistake 2562 was highlighted in Red as withdrawn but I seen 2562 today on X55 route to Leicester from Hinckley at 12.07pm
The only thing I can think of is that when that list was produced it was probably down as withdrawn from Wednesfield and not yet at Hinckley hence why they have it as withdrawn.

This looks like a refocus of the whole company on the Nuneaton - Hinckley - Earl Shilton corridor to support the half-hourly Arriva 158. I'm not surprised, now that Stagecoach 10 and 48 provide 5 buses per hour on this section of route.
This will be one to watch - there will now be 11 direct(ish) buses per hour between Nuneaton and Hinckley, which is probably more than can be sustained in the long term.

The X44 will still be roughly every hour between Leicester & Lutterworth with only a handful of buses going to Rugby as the rest will continue as an 8 to Hinckley.
From what I've been hearing the changes to the X55 aren't liked by the villagers along the route who rely on the service.
warwickshire.gov suggests that the 1 and 7 are half hourly between them.

Never had problems with Sapphire Wifi or sockets so the words "never work" is another of your over exaggerations
Every time ive used the 1 its never worked/been switched on. So its not exaggerated imo. I asked the driver once if it was either not working or switched off and he just said 'I don't know'. Ffs.

Noticed today that 2169 hasn't had a repaint out of London red. You can see the outline of its PDL fleetnumber under the drivers offside window and the Arriva logo above it. They still look smart though
The only thing is that the fleet looks very mismatched, some in Arriva livery (both versions), Hinckley Red, Wardle and the Sainsburys Womborne Solo

3703 was on the 70 yesterday and sounds absolutely s#####d! Over revving then banging into gear struggling to accelerate and making a periodical hissing noise at the back. The rear seats that face each other were riffy as well. Doesn't sound very well at all 😕

Why does it matter that they're 15 years old? The chassis might be, but they'll have had reconditioned engines and gearboxes in that time and lots of other new parts. New buses come at considerable cost and I doubt that lightly used or infrequent tendered services would warrant the expense.

So what? I know what the fleet is, and I guarantee you they are all DDA. NXWM have just withdrawn a fleet of 18 year old Presidents, every one of them was DDA compliant.

From what has been said I imagine Huncote and Croft are being served by a rerouted X44 rather than Hinckley bus taking over the 50a. Personally I think that it was the 52 that needed scrapping but someone who has never visited Leicester will clearly have a much better idea.

The Fleet lists are updated on a monthly basis, usually a few days after the end of the month when Tony gets the info from his contact at Arriva about the previous months moves.

Timetable leaflet for X84 makes no mention of Hinkleybus as far as I could see, bus working it had Centrebus paper legals

The X84 has never carried the Hinckleybus brand, it forms a common headway with the 84 and has had Arriva branded buses and leaflets since it was launched.

It wasn't all over the side of the X84 vehicles. The allocation for this route since inception has been Arriva branded Cadets, then Versas, then Streetlites.
The other Hinckleybus services carried the red livery which has been discontinued since the new livery was announced.

A quick search of 'Hinckley Bus X84' on Google images shows several HinckleyBus logo Cadets, Darts and Solos all operating the X84 Service...

Hardly an ivory tower, just not basing my statements on second hand information I've read on the internet. And, having done the Google search you suggest, I find the vast majority of photos depict Arriva branded buses.
The allocated vehicles for X84 are all (and always have been) Arriva branded; perhaps you should start a "noteworthy workings" thread for "hi" branded vehicles on this route? Particularly as there's so few left in operation.

As I said, last year the case was certainly different and based on first hand sightings and even usage of this service.
Similarly, the same levels of confusion now occur by the local Buses in Hinckley now being branded as Arriva and not Hinckleybus - Why not just brand it all as Arriva? It has always felt very low cost and an operation that Arriva almost seem to shy away from having any ownership or responsibility for.

I'm glad you agree it's low cost and I wish you well in your rebranding exercise which in turn will hopefully bring positive changes to the Bus Service in Hinckley.
At the moment it looks a mess and the Hinckley website makes no mention of said rebrand. In fairness not that the passengers will be confused or probably even care, they have received a substandard service for a very long time by both yourselves and the predecessor operation.

The changeover from HinckleyBus (Centrebus Holding t/a) to Arriva Midlands seems to be complete.
Barwell garage is now on Arriva Midlands Ltd's O licence, and all HinckleyBus services have been cancelled and reregistered, unchanged, by Arriva Midlands Ltd from 5 August 2019.
