Is hydrogen really a wise idea, with the problem national express west midlands are facing with the streetdecks, dont get me wrong i love hydrogen streetdecks and i think hydrogen is a better idea than electric but dont seem like its working as of yet.

Electric can't do the range NX coaches would need.

It is good to hear the vehicles are getting fixed. Most of these happened over 6 months so not all may still be active but like today i was on 30169 and it still has a very slow gearbox.

Why bother reporting defects from 6 months ago, only current ones are worthwhile.

There was already a vehicle defect thread only created late last year too.

@Tony will these be fitted with common charging plugs so they may be charged at other NX sites like CV if required?

It's only a demo on 4 weeks trial on London - Standard routes with NX, for both Pelican & NX to gain operating experience. 

I believe Caetano are developing a hydrogen powered coach too.

Not 100% sure, but I thought the rear O/S main indicator on 6780 wasn't working when it pulled out of the bus stop infront of me, the upper rear repeater was though.

30821 is now withdrawn. due to oil pressure engine issue.

Where would you get the double deckers from ? With single deckers already appearing on double decker routes in Birmingham, especially YW services 2 and 3, also frequently appearing on PB services 7, 33, 65, 67 and 907. Which routes would have to lose it's double deckers to put on to the 4s ?

There's 80 new DD EV's virtually ready to enter service for a start, resulting in cascaded DD's elsewhere + allowing for single deckers to be withdrawn. With another 90 due to complete full 170 order. Plus another few hundred to follow.

Does anyone have any idea what will happen with the Boa Vista's ?? Are there any other NX routes that would have a use for such vehicles or will they get sold off ??

The 66 plate Boa Vista's will be too old, they'll be 8 years old this Autumn. I suspect they will all be returned off lease & sold off including the 18 plate examples. 

I understand that spare parts aren't that easy to source & they're not that reliable.
