'Bus stop not in use' flags now in place at identified locations on the 50 route, eg in Maypole-King's Heath area at Sladepool Farm Rd inbound, at Warstock La in both directions and at stop between Cocks Moors and Alcester Lanes End turning circle inbound.

Three routes affected - details here (note 38MB file) as follows:

Introduction - pg 57 on pdf doc (53 as numbered) to pg 64(60)
Stratford Road route 6 report - pgs 65(61) to 93(89)
Alcester Road route 50 report - pgs 95(91) to 126(122)
Inner Circle route 8A/8C report - pgs 127(123) to 155(151)

The recommendations are set to be implemented imminently and monitored for 6 months.

Throughout the 'd' shaped route years the 35 ran regular shorts, generally every other service, to Pool Farm. At the start of the 00s Travel Your Bus ran their version of the 35E but via Doversley Rd rather than Allens Croft Rd. When TYB was dissolved soon afterward the 35Y became the 35S for a time.

The current 27 does indeed date from ~2003/04 time, prior to which the service number had had a decade in hibernation while an extended and  single decker operatored service 35 covered the route. The extension to Maypole dates from the final withdrawal of the 69 in July 2010.
I don't believe service 69 ever served the QEH.

In lieu of the truncation of service 3, I propose the 76 be routed off Chinn Brook Road to instead serve YW garage and School Road.

Through tickets to the City Centre may need to be considered, otherwise passengers will have to pay more than currently, which may not be popular.
Agreed.
In fact I've been reading about London's Bus Hopper ticket (second journey free within the hour) here and as per the comments following the article [@ 14 Sep 2016, 16:41], you realise that this opens up lots of opportunities for rationalisation of routes similar to that being proposed here on the Cov Rd.
With Swift and now Contactless on the way, would it not be in NXWM's interest to copy the TfL Hopper ticket idea opening up opportunities for further route rationalisation to be consulted on where appropriate?

The Wiki police have had their say, 'Wikipedia isn't the place to deposit personal research material. Maybe there are bus or transport websites which will be interested?'.
Looks like I misinterpreted the use of Wikipedia for hosting this.

If anyone has any suggestions for an alternative (open) host location for this material let us know.

The alternative host I ended up using was the UK Transport Wiki - http://uktransport.wikia.com/wiki/West_Midlands_bus_route_97

Does this mean the 97 will still be running on Yorkminster drive?
NetworkWM advanced timetable confirms 97 will be curtailed at Chelmsley Rd/Helmswood Dr given the extension of the 14 to Yorkminster Dr/Bluebell Dr.

The route info for the new 1 service looks wrong.
The page says that it will serve the new development in Shirley, but the map and route state that it terminates and begins from the Tesco in Hall Green!

Also disappointing to see that both the 1 and 31 are actually seeing decreases in frequency.

Despite being publicised as being 'extended to Shirley', the display of the new extended 1 journeys shows 'Hall Green' with 'Haslucks Green Road' on the lower line, before alternating between the via points!

I see that the bus stop flags and timetable boards on the ground indicate the first/last stop as Hall Green boundary (just before Tesco). But even if 1 journeys are also serving the Sandy Hill Lane stop this is still some way from the new Haslucks Green Road island (and hence Shirley shops) [ref: netwmtravelmap.com]. For all the publicity about service 1 serving Shirley it doesn't really in reality.

I recall a time when minibuses from Solihull turned at the Jacey Road island just off Stratford Road. Perhaps some of this space could be used to create a proper layby just off the main road for terminating service 1 (and 31E evening journeys and 3E sunday journeys). The new right turn arrangement out of Jacey Road also looks tight for a bus but this could easily be widened.

Or alternatively Stanway Road a bit further down and a layover here?

On a different matter I noticed service 50 has been added to stop flags and timetable boards outside YW garage and on Glenavon Road thanks to one GTC bus a day diverting off Alcester Road for some reason.

Network review page, which disappeared for a bit, is now back up on NWM, complete with new style network map - http://www.networkwestmidlands.com/BusReview/BusReview2.aspx

Mirroring the 1 and 31 btwn Acocks Green and Pitmaston Rd is leaving significant sections of existing route with no service, ie the whole of Olton Blvd East, most of Gospel Lane and Shirley Rd south of School Rd. I appreciate the flip to this of course is that the chosen route does gain what NX describe as a 'turn up and go' frequency.

NWM site has been updated!!!

only some pages though, I've just found out. And the timetable for the 1 is from 2009!

http://www.networkwestmidlands.com/BusReview/BusReviewIndex.aspx - A work in progress...

I see that neither the 2 or 3 are to be diverted via Moseley, and on Sundays the 3 continues to terminate at the end of Haslucks Green Rd.
