Today 1876 was broke down near to one stop shopping centre! I saw with hazard lights on and display switched off and engineer in attendance!

1876 was on the 66 yesterday

Could it have been on the 46 today, termination at One Stop with a break usually... ???

As I was arriving into Brum on 4686 yesterday afternoon 4872 was parked up on Lower Bull Street with its bonnet up not sure how long it was there for.

Well I seen it Friday broke down on the highway, at about 17:35! It was definitely 1876 as I seen the number plate bx58szd. Maybe it was on its way back to the depot whilst breaking down?

Another breakdown I've experienced whilst being on the bus!! Yesterday night (Saturday night) 4418 on the 11X started making a really loud bad hissing sound and started losing air pressure! Luckily I made it back to where I needed to get off in Coventry but the sound started before we had even left Leamington! 4418 has no luck on the 11, as it's lost a mirror and broke down in the past whilst on that route! Perhaps 4418 should just avoid the 11?  ;)

So it didn't break down then? And I very much doubt it lost its air pressure as the driver wouldn't drive it with no brakes!

Considering it flashes up "STOP" on the dashboard I highly doubt a driver would carry on...

...Unless of course he's looking for his P45!

[Driving with Red signs on dashboard is a serious offence without express permission from engineers I've been told. And red "Bus Stop" doesn't count]

One thing Daimler Mercedes Benz are good at is producing excellent Diesel engines, I do miss the sound of the 0405n for all its faults you couldn't knock that 12 litre engine.

Speaking of warning lights, does anything bad actually happen if you start a Trident before the "wait to start" light goes out?

j789

No (at least on First 33039,42,43 - 33401 etc do not have the wait to start procedure) but there is a reason for waiting presumably. On the Enviro 300s turning the bus on too quickly sets of an alarm. A good way to wake the passengers up!

Continuous abuse of this feature starves the bearings of oil and can reduce the life of the engine

And preheats the coils [diesel engines],, so I advise against it.

I had no intention of doing it, don't worry! It's interesting though that I've never come across it in any other cabs, just Tridents, so I wonder why other vehicles don't need it

Older diesel cars have it as well, not sure about new ones? It's a Diesel engine feature.

It was making an awfully loud bleeping noise from the cab

Bleeping is not air. Air is a continual deafening noise
