4680 currently dying a long, slow, painful death on the X51... Doubt its gonna make it back to Walsall show it a hill and it gives up all power
Now in exile in Oxfordshire....

Liverpool Street

4218 totally expired at Priory Road/Pershore Road to city yesterday early afternoon. Big big water leak by the looks of it as I travelled past in the opposite direction.

One thing Daimler Mercedes Benz are good at is producing excellent Diesel engines, I do miss the sound of the 0405n for all its faults you couldn't knock that 12 litre engine.

Trident 4609

Think 4607 had a defect on WN 59 this morning. Replaced with 1660

One of the YW tridents, 4359 I think (couldn't see the number clearly) seemingly had an overheat or something this morning at 7:20. It came into Solihull Station out of service with smoke starting to come out the back. It pulled up in the road without pulling in to a stop and the driver cut out the engine. Another driver came down and told him not lift the rear bonnet as smoke would just come right out engulfing them. It can't have been too bad though as it limped a few minutes into the bottom stop albeit with hazards going and no signs on. I'm not sure but it may been the 7:36 76 as apparently a single decker was used on it, so probably stayed out of service. Rather ironic that they were washing the bus shelters at the time with a load of water  :D

4359 is a right shed so wouldn't surprise me! Doesn't sound healthy at all.

Taking their hour break there. they tend to keep their bus for their break on a Saturday, rather than swapping drivers.
