Due to the police incident on the 40 route (West Bromwich to Wednesbury) looks like there has been 3 different diversions tonight but only one was if you look at 818 on bus times you can see on one of the trips I think it went down into friar park then back up from where it came to then go down hall green road come out onto the 47 route and followed it into Wednesbury, and on one of the trips it did the simple diversion which I thought would of just been the main and easiest diversion going straight down Crankhall lane, only other thing I could of thought of why theve gone on different diversions because of the nature of the incident some may be aware, that West Midlands police have contacted National express and diamond bus and told them to avoid that part for the time being I'm not too sure.

The newer coaches are expected to be withdrawn from service first & transfer to other NX operators. BV22VTK, BV22VST & BV22VSU have already been withdrawn & collected by NX, not sure which subsidiary they've gone to. Luton has a number of 65 & 16 plate coaches still in regular service, so could be a contender.

It looks as though ex Edwards Coaches BV22VTK & BV22VSU have indeed transferred to NX Ops Luton Depot.

Also, Woods Coaches - Aston Depot 358, 360 & 365 also seem to have transferred to NX Ops Luton Depot, with the majority of the 16 plate Levante 2's at Luton Depot not being used since.

I heard they are leaving Bristol,for where is another matter.......

The new Edwards fleet will be replacing everything up to the 72 plate Levante 3's, just 2 older coaches will be retained to operate the 216 Cardiff - Bristol Airport from the 17/67 plate batch of Levante 2's.

Will it be withdrawn or could it possibly get a euro 6 engine as aren't the non euro 6 buses starting to be withdrawn soon?

There are no Euro 6 engines in Gemini's, just retrofitted Euro 6 exhaust systems

Correct Winston, they have transferred to Aston.

I did think they could end up at Aston, as they have a predominantly Volvo based fleet. 

Are those instead of or aswell as the new Scania / Levante 3A's that were due? 

As someone who uses their coaches on the 507/9 between Cardiff/Newport and London,plus their work into Birmingham-forget the route numbers off hand-this is welcome news.

Edwards already operate a very modern NX fleet, the oldest Levante 2's they currently have are 17 plate (20) & 67 plate (9)

The initial delivery of 14 x Levante 3A's seems to have resulted in the 7 x 71 plate Volvo B11RT/Levante 3 being removed from service, I can only assume they'll transfer to another NX contractor, being only just over 2 years old (new 11/2021).

Looks as though Edwards Coaches will be replacing their entire NX fleet as well as expanding it, following a massive fleet investment:

68 x Scania / Levante 3A's are on order of which 14 were delivered just before Xmas, leaving 54 still to follow:

10 x Van Hool Altano's will also follow in June likely replacing the 10 x Caetano Boa Vista coaches (6 x 66 plate & 4 x 18 plate)

I know you can't have police on every single bus but the whole idea of not knowing who is watching you was there to set a principle of a police officer possibly being on your bus at anytime sort of like how an inspector could come on your bus at anytime to combat fare evasion.

CCTV is watching every bus / all of the time. 

It shouldn't be too hard to track down who's responsible, they're obviously not bright enough to even use a different route / are setting fire to the buses within a small radius.

Another arson attack has been reported this time on 4609 which makes it 3 in less than 24 hours and they have all happened on the 49

Sounds like the same person / persons setting fire to them all too.

Out today so it couldn't have been too bad.

It hasn't tracked since 10.20am this morning, when it was due to start its first service on the 49.

The main rear offside brake light on 730 does not work. Followed it down Quarry Bank High St

Making it a condition of tenders would kind of force Diamond to accept it more because of the contracts that they have.

For Diamond, of all operators, to claim that a low usage multi operator ticket is going to cripple the commercial network is laughable. Especially when cowboys such as Select accept the ticket, it really can't be that bad.

If the multi operator ticket was worth retaining financially, they wouldn't be withdrawing from the scheme.

No doubt the decision is based around the reimbursement they receive no longer covering their operating costs.
