If the seats are changed by the garages the bus will spend more time off the road
At the moment the seat pads are sent away for re trim while the body work is repaired and prepared for painting so minimizing the time the vehicle is of the road
Also the garages have not got a good track record at replacing seats, hence the vehicles running round with multiple patterns

Tony
Will the seats be replaced later or is this a change of NXWM policy?
I thought the feedback from 4177 was that the travelling public like the new seat covers as it gives the impression of a new bus

Will 4079 return to service or is this the first withdrawal (not withstanding the fire victims)
I guess there might be a good second hand market for these buses

I assume that when all the TravelWM buses have been repainted/retrimed then the 57 plate E400s will follow.
The debranded 997 and 50 branded examples look very tired

Dundee should have new buses as well, not all new buses should go to West Mids with old cascades to Dundee
This is exactly what First did with the regional companies and look at the age profile of these fleets now

Thanks Winston, so approximately 6 short of the 250!

Looks like NXD will need a batch of NXWM Geminis to run the Fifes
#67
Why only 4025/6 & 4103 and not all the NXD Presidents

If NX are having 250 new buses this year then I assume these would eliminate:
Volvo B6
Volvo B10L
Volvo B10BLE
Mercedes 0405N
Optare Spectra
Volvo B7/Presidents
And maybe the Mercedes and Scania articulated buses as these non standard

250 buses next year, I thought plan was for another 174 to meet Cento target of 300

From the 300
26 E400 delivered 2013 (PB Sutton routes)
56 E400 delivered 2014
14 E200 SWB delivered 2014
30 E200 LWB delivered 2014
174 TBC 2015 delivery

So looks like another 76 additional new buses for next year, This will also cover Dundee. any ideas?

"The UK Bus division performed strongly in the period with growth in both revenue and profit. Commercial revenue grew by 4% in the period, with concessionary revenues 3% higher, and passenger numbers up 1% in the year to date. We are delighted that our pioneering partnership with Centro – especially through our 'Transforming Bus Travel' agreement – won the Transport Partnership of the Year at the recent National Transport Awards. This agreement provides a stability that has delivered record rises in passenger satisfaction measured in recent Passenger Focus surveys and encourages us to invest – we will replace more than 250 vehicles over the next 12 months."

I thought PE E400s had very high mileage after 5 yeears on the 9 so need a less frequent route?
Surely these would not be sent to PL for the 126

Ok thanks for update
I assume when all buses are in NXWM liv the current refurb/ painting will continue at the current rate
I visited Birmingham on Saturday and the standard of fleet presentation has clearly improved in recent years, however there are a number of early NXWM liv vehicles (with the connection bars) that will need a repaint/ refurb such as the 997 E400s and 50 E400s

Thanks for the updates Tony
I see CV still have 2 in old liv, have CV actually withdrawn 13mercs following receipt of the E400s?
#72
Tony, I thought 3 vehicle types would be eliminated with this years deliveries?
Short E200s have seen off Solos and I assume the WB Darts by the end of this month
Long E200s based on the locations would see of remaining WB, PL and WA B6s
So what has changed?
#73
Tony, I thought thebdel was for 600 vehicles?

4191/2 are strange transfers out of bc to yw if the plan is to keep the batches in order

So again the body numbers are not in sequence with the fleet numbers.
