In oldbury town centre tonite a electric van has gone into a stationary platinum 6987 the force of the crash shunted it into the back of single deck scania .
The rear of 6987 has gone in quite far suspect engine components to be damaged.

Quote from: 2900 on May 11, 2024, 09:39:00 AMWell where do i start the state of things at WB, the platinums proving to be very unreliable quite easily the worst buses i've  ever experienced for reliability, its adding to the bus shortage problems here, there's that air of doing the minimum to keep buses going that are due for withdrawal going, the Gemnis still doing a sterling job at over 20 years old.
1887 wot a turd struggles to 20 mph, like driving bouncy castle while stuck in sauna.
WB platinum's issues are electrical , Red STOP light plus 1 or 2 red battery symbols common.
All the dash lights up like a xmas tree followed by limp mode .

Quote from: Gareth on May 12, 2024, 04:59:43 PMI'm glad to know that the the 82/87 is so incredibly reliable and frequent that your passengers have the luxury of letting a bus they 'don't like the look of' go past them for the one behind.
Each to there own eh,  I love getting old buses on main corridors, it's like you have some sort of disease when you turn up, the facial expressions just priceless.
I bet Gemini in platinum livery would look ace though, shame will never see one .

82/87 Dudley rd 2 platinums had a coming together at the notorious pinch point of Rotten park rd, pure jokes down there you can't make it up, with so many new inexprienced drivers these things do happen, the parking is a nitemare nothing is ever done, i just sit there let the idiots do what ever

i had 4744 the other it was average at best for one of these Tridents but still way better any MMC
4477 still going great from my point of view, punters took one look at it on the 82/87s and thought no and catch the USELESS bus behind me, bonus for me

1887 SCANIA OMNISHITE, What an awful bus first of all cab heaters stuck on just what you need on a hot day, i had the great privilege of driving this gem on the 87 service, no more deckers available due to the uselessness of WB's platinums,
it takes forever to get to 20 mph, its like driving a bouncy castle while stuck in a sauna.
I WOULD gladly drive this to PVS myself for free

Quote from: Celestial Toymaker on May 03, 2024, 05:37:31 PMIn recent years (before the split) The Circle had become intensely unreliable, often i waited for a bus 45 minutes to the Hour, the display says one will be along in 5 minutes or whatever but nothing came along, no social media info on why its not running, phone AG Garage they say its reported as running with no issues,
The Following day it said there might be delays "yesterday"

The 80 has become as bad, often buses have just ignored stops either when trying to get off or when waiting to get on,
i recently inquired from the driver when i was over carried by 5 stops on the 80 - the response was "we are allowed to delete stops if we are running late in order to keep time, as long as we do not delete timing points !"

REALLY ??!!
The 80s drivers reply is news to me, as far i am aware you can't keep folks on a bus against there will, i drop off folks away from stops i just make sure its by the foot path etc , i,ve seen people throw up just after letting them off etc, some one having a  panic attack episode they need to get off

Loan or transfer?
probably loans WB short on buses, 14 buses awaiting parts/repairs i am told

WB's 4700s are going down hill, tired engines etc , the ex premier fleet at WB worst of the lot imo

Quote from: Wumpty on April 04, 2024, 10:53:22 AMPedestrians tend to forget that bus drivers are human too and can't stop a bus on a sixpence.

NX Bus offer an excellent counselling service to any staff member that feels they need it, especially in cases like these.

Good to hear the driver is back at work
They do to be fair, WB use a place not far from M5 junc 1/ Sportsman pub,  Midland summat or other

Quote from: BlackCountryBusSpotter on March 26, 2024, 05:38:18 PMA man has been hit by a bus in Smethwick NX 82/87 Branded MMC Involved
https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/black-country/smethwick-high-street-crash-live-28891297

i recently had a chat with the driver of the bus involved in this incident and hes ok doing well back out driving etc, Police having reviewed all the evidence cleared him of all fault as pedestrian didn't even look to see if any traffic was approaching from the right before stepping off the foot path straight into that bus.
