Quote from: Jack on Yesterday at 10:30:57 PMThey've gained one, 1887 has returned (assuming) as a replacement for 1846.
1887 was a long term loan to WB with 1860 1860 came back first 1887 presumably yes to replace 1846, 4696 might be on loan to cover for 4959

Quote from: Stu on Yesterday at 07:53:11 PMI see far too many 'near-misses' where drivers fail to 'give-way' at junctions or roundabouts.

Most drivers do get away with it (just about) by racing out of a junction, but it only takes a slow-moving car to protrude too far across the give-way lines to cause an accident and collision.

You only have to look at the damage caused to that electric bus when a car pulled out into the bus lane on Small Heath Highway in front of it.

True either way we know that WA have lost an Omnilink

Quote from: Tony on Yesterday at 01:22:07 PMIt as nothing to do with the car speeding the car was actually going very slowly
Oh I didn't want to acuse the Bus Driver of Speeding either I know the car pulled out. There could ne numerous factors, Driver might not have seen the car reacted late as wba lad said, bus driver might have had his/her sight obstructed by something or someone. Could have been distracted by a Passenger. I also didn't want to blame the Car Driver but based on the way i interpreted it flew out the junction obviously it didn't. All that we do is 1846 is a write off further why I gathered speeding was a factor. Although the bus must have hit the car quite hard to be a write off unless it hit a Range Rover or something.

Quote from: Wba_lad on Yesterday at 05:04:23 PMWest Midlands metro have a metro branded up for Cyrille Regis, tram 31. I think it's nice they did that. Although because it's a old tram it's not out very often as they use the newer trams I would assume when the extension has opened to Dudley they will use them more.
Yeah I know they do but that's what I'm thinking for NX Buses named after local landmarks so in West Bromwich you could have Oak House, Sandwell Valley or local famous people, or legends, Tony Bomber Brown, Jeff Astle so on for the Baggies, Betty Boothroyd for MP's or so on Frank Skinner for Comedians. Walsall could have one named after Noddy Holder or The Abarotruem

But Trains aren't named Jessica Grace there either named after a City so City Of Birmingham which the operator serves, A Railway person who has given service for so long, someone killed in an accident, Charity ie Steven Sutton or something to do with the Railway. Buses should be named after maybe local people or legends for that area. So a West Brom bus should be named after Cyrllie Regis or one of the Three Degrees or Jeff Astle. You could also name after a long serving or former Member of staff or a local charity so for example the Albion Foundation or Good Sheppard in Wolverhampton or maybe Birmingham Children's Hospital. A link to the local area NX Serve. Names like Jessica Grace might be picked by say a driver called Steve who only drives that bus maybe once every few months but most drivers won't care. It works for Trucks as usually the Driver has to drive that same Truck for a few days and if it is named after his family he might be reminded of them. Buses Don't work like that

Quote from: Wba_lad on Yesterday at 09:43:54 AMI'm not saying anyone was speeding because you really can't judge from CCTV footage only people who will know if the bus was speeding will be national express with their CCTV. The bus was going down the road and the car came out of a side road the bus seemed like it didn't have enough time to react I thought he was going a little too quick but it might of been because everything was stationary and he was only moving vehicle, as I say though I'm not saying he's speeding or not because you can't judge from CCTV.
I was more on about the Car speeding not the bus a bus can't really speed down there as it has to give way to Traffic or maneuver through The parked cars. Plus based on the location the bus would have been slowing down ready for the turn onto Poplar Ave

I ay an expert but I'm guessing the 2015 MMC's feel better to drivers as they feel more powerful? And also maybe the Stop Start technology on the Voiths is a faff to keep restarting the engine at every bus stop? Whereas with a ZF it's Doors Closed Brakes released and off you go

It's a longterm loan but might be a permanent Tranfer at this point, there are Walsall buses though or 1887 was

Quote from: Stu on May 10, 2024, 03:56:44 PMIf there isn't a 'tweet' then the media don't know about these events.
Fair enough, To be fair I didn't see anything about the 37 diverting but it appears 809 went down Western Ave on it's way back to Walsall, 6761 went down there heading to Willenhall before following the 41 route route Churchill Road to Queen Elizabeth Aveune back to Walsall

853 is running 16 minutes late on the 34 and 1884 is late on the 39 as it was parked up in Walsall for a while after missing it's scheduled departure

Quote from: Tony on May 10, 2024, 02:58:13 PMerr yes, it was an RTC, and one that will have written the bus off
Wow must have been coming at some speed the Car not the bus or is it due to the age of 1846 and it not worth being fixed and yes I did see it in the Incidents and Accidents thread so my apologies. It is strange as usually that sort of thing gets reported locally and in the news there was nothing especially considering it must have been serious to write the bus off

Quote from: ZF B7 on May 09, 2024, 11:00:18 PM1846 involved in a crash on Attlee Road. Looks like an idiot did not make proper observations when leaving the junction at Lilac Grove.
Usually not a bad area for drivers from experience on the main roads yes Atlee Road is usually tight so someone gives way for the bus or the bus gives way vice Versa, surprising really but yet again the standard of driving is going down these days
