No i remember now seeing one of Tonys photos a couple of years back of a metrobus on the 545 at Merry Hill. The 541 just went to Dudley and the 545 also got curtailed to Dudley

Personally i can't remember the 545 going there but I know the 541 used to because I used to catch it.

The 545 used to go to merry hill via pear tree lane

The 123 previously used to serve Bearwood to Merry Hill Centre, it was extended to Perry Barr to replace the 440 (Bearwood - Perry Barr)
Class 153, 155 and 156. The Super Sprinters
Local Routes: 21, 89, 48/A, 12/A, 54/A
Semi-local routes: 80, 87

I miss the 123, living fairly (well fairly ish) near to Witton always found it useful and slightly quicker to Merry Hill than changing in Birmingham and getting the 141.

Liverpool Street

21 to replace the x64  :o

It must've been said in the previous 6 pages but I cant be arsed to go through them.  ;)

One thing Daimler Mercedes Benz are good at is producing excellent Diesel engines, I do miss the sound of the 0405n for all its faults you couldn't knock that 12 litre engine.

Can anyone think of any instances were an operator has changed a route, and then reverted it back to the original routing.

Examples I can think of are when TWM amalgamated the 46/44 creating the Turves Green - Pheasey cross city service.   This was soon split back, although from memory once split the 44 was reduced in frequency.

Another example is the first South West Birmingham review, the 21 was re-routed to serve Edgbaston Park Road instead of Harborne, yet this was reverted back to the original routing after only 3/4 months.

The 444, or at least a similar variation. There was no better bus that linked Warley, Londonderry and Smethwick to both Bearwood and West Bromwich

In a kinda similar vein, years ago the 951 used to run every 20 minutes during the day express between Birmingham and Walsall (and then beyond...), slowly got reduced, and then they introduced an X51 as a brand new route that did near enough exactly the same. I love it when they do things like that but don't quite admit they got it wrong in the first place.
Now in exile in Oxfordshire....

The 141 is a classic example. 99/138 got withdrawn, 141 introduced as replacement (Birmingham - Merry Hill via Blackheath), a few months later, 141 amended to serve Halesowen instead of Blackheath, following the exact same route as the 138
