Isn't Dudley getting a small depot or is the new extensions all going to be run from wednesbury

years ago there was talk that the old freightliner depot moor street brierley hill was going to be a tram depot but think it all fell through

Broad st to five ways underpass contractors seem to be clearing all their stuff away and the line to five ways underpass looks to have overhead wires
The underpass is wireless
Then underpass to morrisons is wireless with the final section morrisons to the terminus seems to be overhead wires again
By morrisons s the concrete is being painted green with the last bit to the terminus having soil Inbetween the rails

Well they couldn't have buses terminating there do to the frequency of the trams??

That was always the long-term plan, this is nothing new.

The original plan for the Hagley Road was to have it as a Sprint route out to Quinton or Halesowen at first, and then develop it into a Metro tram route afterwards. Somewhere along the line, the Sprint idea got skipped, and the Metro extension to Five Ways went ahead. But it was always going to end up being extended as far as at least Bearwood at some point.

When will buses return to broad street, seen that the track is fully laid and instu and the overhead cables are up

So what work is left to be done in this area surely there is not much left,

the stop at 5 ways needs to be finished & would of thought test runs up broad st before passengers can use it the same with Wolverhampton to the station

They need complete Bull Street to New Street Station first. Still quite a bit of work to do there. That will need to be done before a tram can even get near Broad Street.

was told end of the month for coropration st to reopen asked one of the workmen working on the line

All of the track in the city centre is laid apart from a short section near the delta junction but a lot of top surface needs to be completed. I wonder if they'll put the overhead wires back over the delta junction or use batteries from Bull St to Corporation Street, then overhead to Grand Central, then batteries again to Broad St, then overhead for a short distance, then batteries to the terminus.

17 was running down Corporation Street today but no service beyond Bull Street. The appalling thing was that the stops from Library had no mention that there was no tram service and there was a small queue for the tram at Library. The electronic signs showed nothing meaningful. Barriers, etc., still up beyond Library.

Sounds like it was doing a 'test run' then.

I did notice a couple of weeks ago when I went to have a look, that the stops by the Town Hall were showing trams as being 'due' or in '5 mins', despite them clearly not going there. There were also a couple of people sitting at those stops, not sure if they were actually waiting for trams that weren't going to arrive, or if they were just sitting there to have a rest.
