"We have been advised by Stagecoach, who currently operate bus services 65/66, that they will no longer be able to continue running the services after Friday 17th December 2016 as they are no longer financially viable."

To put it in brief, WCC want to subsidise a service 665 which would operate 2 hourly from Leamington to Napton.

However, this will cut the service to Daventry and Banbury. There will no longer be a direct bus service to either of these locations from Leamington. Tesco Southam used to provide money for these extensions.

While there is not enough time for a full consultation due to the deregulated bus industry... WCC would still like views.

It isn't good is it :(

The 75 / X15 has been in decline since Johnson's won the contract to run the 77 service.
I note that there will only be a few journeys serving Tachbrook Road from 2 each hour...

These are the most common concerns received to the County Council and what replacement has been offered:

Ensure a bus service is provided to Leamington.
A service will continue to operate between Napton and Leamington via Southam, Bishops Itchington and Harbury.

Retain a shopping service to Daventry and Banbury.
A Saturday Market Day service to Banbury from Southam, Harbury and Bishops Itchington will be available. Alternative services exist for the Thursday Market Day. The request for a shopping service to Daventry is unable to be met due to very poor patronage on this section of the route.

Retain a peak bus service to Leamington.
A peak Leamington service from Daventry/Napton and Bishops Itchington/Harbury has been retained.

Retain current level of service.
This request is unable to be met due to poor usage on many journeys. Current financial constraints dictate an inability to continue subsidising at the current level.

Retain Daventry to Leamington service.
A peak service from Daventry to Leamington has been retained. Other journeys have been withdrawn due to poor patronage and the expiry of Section 106 funding from the developers of Tesco in Southam.

Retain Banbury to Leamington service.
All Banbury Market Day services have been retained however other services have been withdrawn due to low patronage. A regular rail service exists between Leamington and Banbury.

Provide a service for Ladbroke.
A new Saturday service to Banbury from the centre of the village has been created by Stagecoach. Other services have been withdrawn due to low patronage. An alternative service exists via the uBus service (Tel: 01789 264491).

Reduction in service for Tachbrook Rd, Leamington Spa.
There will be no reduction in service for the Tachbrook Rd with a new Town service provided by Stagecoach.

Provide an early evening journey to Leamington.
This request was added to the revised tender and an additional evening journey will be available.

Retain a Friday/Saturday evening service.
Following negotiation, Stagecoach have agreed to retain a Friday and Saturday evening service to Leamington.

Retain a Sunday service.
Services to Bishops Itchington, Harbury and Southam will remain unchanged.

Here is all the information on services changing on the 18th of December 2016

Route G1 - New early morning journeys
A new weekday departure at 0607 from Leamington Parish Church to South Farm and 0621 South Farm to Leamington has been introduced following customer requests. No other changes to route and timetable.

Route 26 - Renumbered to X19
Several Monday to Saturday off-peak journeys connect with route X17 to provide onward travel to Warwick, Leamington, Kenilworth and Coventry.

In order to simplify and improve links around Shipston, route 50 will have a minor routing change.
All route 50 buses will now follow the same route into Shipston via Honington Turn and A3400.
Buses finishing at Shipston will then follow a new one-way loop around Shipston - A3400, Station Rd, Tilemans Lane, Darlingscote Road, B4035 and A3400. Blackwell Road and Fosse Way will no longer be served due to low passenger numbers.
Buses serving Chipping Norton will continue along A3400 as normal.
Due to the above, there will be some minor timing changes.

Route 63
There will be minor timetable changes to route 63

Route 64
The majority of 64 journeys remain unchanged however those journeys running via Harbury and Bishop's Itchington will now be served during the day by route 665 (see below) and Friday & Saturday evening journeys will be run on route 64A.

Route 65/66/665
Routes 65 & 66 were run under tender for Warwickshire County Council. Unfortunately, due to poor usage, it has become necessary to withdraw from these tendered services.
In order to maintain a service, Warwickshire County Council issued a new tender, 665, which Stagecoach Midlands will run. This will provide a 2 hourly service between Napton and Leamington via Southam, Bishop's Itchington and Harbury.
The morning and afternoon route 65 journeys from Daventry to Leamington will be maintained to provide a facility to Warwickshire College (see 63/64 timetable)
A new shopping service 501 will be introduced on Saturday between Harbury, Southam, Ladbrooke, Fenny Compton, Little Bourton and Banbury (see below)

Route 67 - Enhanced frequency
Passengers on route 67 between Lillington and Leamington will benefit from an improved clockface 15 minute frequency Monday to Saturday daytime. The section between Sydenham and Leamington will continue to run up to every 30 minutes. Friday & Saturday evenings and Sunday timetable remain unchanged.

Route 68/X68 - Improved reliability
To improve reliability, there have been several timing changes to routes 68 and X68 to combat increasing traffic congestion.

Route 75 will no longer run.
For customers wishing to travel along Tachbrook Road, routes 76 and 665 will provide suitable replacements.
For customers wishing from travel to Bishop's Tachbrook, route G1 will continue to provide early morning and late afternoon journeys Monday to Saturday.

Route 76 - New route
As part of the new developments at Warwick Gates, we are happy to announce the introduction of new route 76, providing a facility between Hawkes Meadow, Heathcote Lane, Harbury Lane and Tachbrook Road with Leamington Shopping Park, Rail Station and Parade.

Route 86
All route 86 journeys will now start outside Hales Street Transport Museum and no longer stop on Trinity Street. There are no other route or timetable changes

Route 501/502 - New Saturday Shopping service to Banbury
Following successful tender and discussions with Warwickshire County Council, we are delighted to announce new Saturday shopping services to Banbury.

Route X17 - Additional journeys and links to Worcestershire
Route X17 will see some minor timing changes and additional journeys added. Some Monday to Saturday off peak journeys will connect with route X19 for onward travel to Alcester, Studley and Redditch. (see below)

Route X18 - Refined timetable
To help improve reliability during peaks, several route X18 journeys have been retimed.

Route X19 - New links to Warwickshire
Current route X19 journeys between Leamington, Kenilworth and JLR Whitley will now be renumbered X69 from 18th December. These journeys can be found in the 68/X68 timetable above.
From 18th December, route X19 will replace route 26 between Stratford and Redditch, with some minor timetable changes. Also, some off-peak Monday to Saturday journeys will connect with route X17 for onward travel to Warwick, Leamington, Kenilworth and Coventry.

Ref the Route 86

All route 86 journeys will now start outside Hales Street Transport Museum and no longer stop on Trinity Street. There are no other route or timetable changes.

Certainly will help the passenger knowing there is just the one pick up stop.
Will there also be a set down stop behind Primark on Ironmonger Row for Broadgate I wonder?
