Just to let you know, the 16 also calls at Gibbet Hill (whether it is heading towards Stratford or Kenilworth) but takes a little longer than the W1c as it calls at the main university campus first, and the 11 calls at Gibbet Hill too on the way to Leamington, but this takes far longer.
(The 12 does not call at Gibbet Hill).

This gives you some other options so you wouldn't have to wait a whole hour if for example you are a little delayed.

Outbound bus lane on The Butts between Ring Road and Albany Road has been removed/is now a left turn lane for all traffic (Friargate mitigation), the small section ahead of Albany Road remains making it nothing more than a glorified bus stop.

...So the traffic lights at the B4101/Ringroad junction aren't a coincidence then?
I'm of the opinion that the whole roundabout needs signalising, sometimes its a struggle for buses getting out of town to find a gap.

Yes those traffic lights and other road changes around the place is coined as Friargate mitigation even the new mini-roundabout at Daventry Rd/Quinton Rd.

Also agree with Croft Road, it's outbound bus lane ought to be "gated" at the Starley Rd traffic lights to allow buses to approach the roundabout in the middle lane, entering the roundabout from the left hand side bus lane is a disaster waiting to happen.

The southbound bus shelters at Warwick Road station bridge are going to be removed within the next 7 days.
Also a new bus stop pole going to be sited on Grosvenor Link Road, all I can imagine this is for is a temporary loop for rail station bus services.

I presume in the long-term - better bus stop/shelter provision will be provided for Rail Station bus passengers - in whatever form that may be. I may be wrong, but I'm sure I caught sight of plans for a new mini bus-station in a re-designed station forecourt area.

The remaining road bridge that used to span the ring road at junction 6 was demolished during a road closure last weekend. The footbridge remains at the moment to give workers site access. The slip roads from the Quadrant have also been demolished with work on foundations for what will be a tunnel for the ring road now well underway.

This bus stop was installed as and when promised (westbound near Burger King) however it cannot be accessed as road traffic remains prohibited from entering Westminster Rd (a.k.a Grosvenor Link Road) from Warwick Road. The idea was so the Stagecoach routes can stop nearer to the station whilst the footpath is closed, in the meantime Stagecoach remain unhelpful by not serving Station Square and I have no idea if the junction is going to altered to allow buses to enter.  ::)

Ring road has been closed at junction 6 this weekend with buses on routes 8/A, 9/A, 11/12 from city towards the station operating via Stoney Road.
This is to allow to removal of the remaining footbridge.
According to the local paper the first beams for the new bridge/tunnel are being delivered this week, with night time  closures.

Indeed a 3-bay Interim mini bus station will be sited at the western edge of Station Square, this of course will be stands Sa, Sb and Sc re-sited.

One wonders what changes are possible or likely for the bus services in the near future, as access across the ring road junction could be open around 29th March 2015, this will be obvious for routes which will enter and exit the rail station to/from J6 but:

NXC 9/9A - as access across Station Square is seemingly going to be prohibited (except for taxis in the eastward direction) access to the Rail Station from Stoney Road might have to be via Quinton Rd and Ring Road, routing in the other direction might be more awkward but may become Warwick Road and Michaelmas Road assuming entering Michaelmas Road is possible as a large pedestrian refuge has been added to the junction since the grand old days of service C so it may be a safety hazard.

De Courcey (and Diamond) should seriously think about offering (or hand over to allow) something better/more competitive, for example combining services 85, 585 and X30/X31 could offer a 10 minute frequency along the core route on Monday-Fridays.  The Saturday service has currently dwindled to a ghastly hourly 585 only, god knows why.
The W1A/C service could link up and merge with one of these services at the Rail Station.
The Ansty Park service ought to continue along Ansty Road and Hinckley Road (A4600) to the M6 Junction into Ansty Park (with 585 serving Dorchester Way?).

Well that's my two cents/aspirations for now, we shall look forward as always.

Two sections of Kassel kerb was laid at the rail station yesterday, presumably in preparation for the new station entrance. It is where the buses turn right out of the current stand, part of it is in the pavement and partially hidden for now having had Tarmac laid both sides of it whilst the pavement is still in use.
