The best way to work out PVR for routes that interwork are by finding the PVR for both routes individually and then dividing it by one, for example.
83 (PVR of 4) + 89 (PVR of 6) - 1 = 9 buses.
That's how I work it out anyway :)
Class 153, 155 and 156. The Super Sprinters
Local Routes: 21, 89, 48/A, 12/A, 54/A
Semi-local routes: 80, 87

Mentioned before at WN the 3/4 interwork on every evening, 3 buses cover the diagram.
3 to Fordhouses, empty to Pendeford, 4 to Spring Hill, back to Pendeford, empty to Fordhouses, 3 to Castlecroft and vice versa.

works on a sunday too but there is a 6 interwork thrown in for good measure, never bothered to work out where though!
Preserving a bit of West Midlands heritage with 1037 and 1849.

I may have a maths degree, but I have no facility to comprehend this method of calculating the PVR!
Maybe this happens to work in this instance, but I don't think it can work generally.

Maybe not, but show me an example that it can't... 127 (PVR of 4) + 128 (PVR of 4) + 129 (PVR of 4) - 1 = 11 buses
On Sundays... 127 (PVR of 2) + 128 (PVR of 2) - 1 = 3 buses

You put add the two together, then dividing by one. That just gives exactly the same answer, I think you meant minus one
