Is the 20 extension to Nuneaton definitely going ahead or was it just wishful thinking?

How on earth can "via Coventry" be an improvement ? Given that most routes operate within
the Coventry boundary "via Coventry" is absurd and totally unhelpful to most travellers. I also
find it rather insulting.
I agree there was a problem before September with "via City Centre" as the generic default but NX
Coventry vehicles never seem to have much flexibility with destination displays particularly in the era
of digital display

Think I agree with that, not sure 'via Coventry' is very satisfactory - I know 'Coventry' is referring to the city centre. Not sure about insulting, but it looks a bit lazy!

Services ran well, carrying respectable loads.
All buses on routes 8A, 11, 13 and 20 were branded.
The challenge was finding out what was running and when.
12X was shown as running on Apps as well as spurious journeys on 6, 8 and 9. People resorted to getting taxis as key totems in City Centre were defective. Nothing was provided for the likes of Amazon workers. Enough intending passengers were still around at 6pm to justify running later journeys on busy routes 11, 20, 21.
The lack of a Xmas leaflet missed the opportunity to get feedback if you don't read this forum. The transformation of communication cultures always was for the long haul!

I have read on another page that a registration has been submitted for the 11 to be extended to Warwick....

Interesting. Where was this mentioned, if you don't mind me asking? On a similar note, there is still no mention on the NX website of the registered changes to the 20 from 27th January, which was alleged on a Stagecoach page that the 20 was extending to Nuneaton from the same date.

The Quote:

Midlands launches U12 in competition with Nat Exp Coventry , although they missed Coventry Station on the first Saturday, who then announced the extension of their 20 from Coventry beyond Bedworth to Nuneaton to start next month.
Now today they have registered their 11 to run beyond Leamington to Warwick competing with SC X17!
Now in three weeks Phil Medlicott is moving off to SC Yorkshire having instigated a BUS WAR in Warwickshire .
His replacement Mark Whitelocks' home Town is RUGBY and he will in fact inherit the war!!!

How many would you think Winston? Am thinking an extra 6?

NX are taking the U12 very seriously indeed! I actually suspect they may come out on top too!

Provides a useful source to move spare B7RLE's to.

I would imagine Stagecoach will take the 20 xtension very seriously. Given that
the route will be pretty saturated I wouldn't have thought they would run more buses
but there is certainly plenty of scope for them to cut fares. Currently, a Nuneaton
dayrider plus, which gives travel as far as Coventry City centre, is £8.10 - double what
NX would be. Stagecoach, perhaps in readiness for xtra competition, have already
reduced the price of their Coventry daysaver to £3.50 until end February (was £4.50).
Personally, I am a bit disappointed that they didn't consider at least one an hour xtension
of the 16 from Keresley to Bedworth/Nuneaton as long as it followed the route of the
defunct Stagecoach route 57.
