662 is back in service, saw it on 59, arriving in Wolverhampton Bus Station at 11:55.

Seen it various times today. Also 4002 was on a peak 59 working this morning although i'm sure it is now on a daytime board

The 62 isn't a tendered service though. 586 was today's vehicle and the diversion had gone by the time I caught the 1730 off town

Sticking with B6's, has 598 been withdrawn and have 639/662 been repaired yet?

Last time I saw 598 was on 12th April, I did wonder where was 598 - hope it will be back in service soon. What happened to 639 and 662, have I missed something?

639 and 662 have been off the road for repair but for a number of weeks. I believe 598 has been withdrawn with a worn diff but I asked in case somebody knew definates.

Just saw 598 on 59E to Ashmore Park - so 598 is not withdrawn. :)

That will be the bus on afternoon peak board (out of garage 15:1*) 59/14 :)

mranon

i thought it was 554 that had been withdrawn

It has.  But 598 has been out of action for a while along with a 63*,662,4002,4016 and 5510.

Glad to hear 598 is back, 554 is parked in PL with a big chunk of the front missing, one part I know to be removed is the "air-dryer" if that is actually a part and not me being thick again, fair bit of trim could be taken out of it as well. 662 was on its first day back on the road today, was noted on the 59 as has been said but wound up on 28's. 639 has been off the road a while now joined by 632 with a faulty step lowering mechanism (step kept raising and lowering whilst vehicle was in motion). I did also see 4002 out today. 640 and 4021 amongst today's breakdowns.

EDIT - Just read in a different thread that 632 was back in traffic and 662 was not on the 28 so apologies for being "thick" lol

4002 is out late night 59's tonight :)  Although its usually should be Tridents (And any hybrids that appear) confined to late night boards i'm glad 4002 is on there :) A fast bus indeed, One of the finest at WN i must say :)

4002 was changed for 4567 on board 59/11 this evening.

an air dryer is a part. it is supposed to remove moisture from the air via filters. (usually spin off which can be changed). it also incorporates an exhauster valve, which blows out excess air once air system is fully charged.

Something I forgot to post last week- 2018 now has a Mega Rear advert (Something to do with Skegness) applied.

Its either just unfortunate timing by Tony or has 1650 been looking rather scruffy for nearly 5 years? Peeling paint and advertising, what a mess!

Ashley

1650 may look abit scruffy but it's one of the better ones that remain

The reason for the new photo was it is the first one I have of it with the current fleet names on. The paintwork doesn't llook that bad for how old it is, what is noticable though is the last three photos all have different adverts on, but none of them are sticking properly which is one of the reasons it looks tatty.

I reckon the paintwork is now 10 years old. The bottom photo shows it outside Walsall paintshop which is when I reckon it was last done.

Ironically looking at it, where the latest pic was took was the same place as where pic no 3 (the 2011 one!)

A very interesting day at WN today:

4021 was on the 126 before going onto the 2
634 is on the 79

And now 638 is on the 79!
633 is on a daytime 59 board too.

According to the inspector he had to take off several buses (4589 off the 59 although its back on here now) and put them onto Schools as there were no buses avaliable.  4547 was on the 59 (Late night board 59/05) but is now on 529's (It may have done a school aswell i think)

59/14 missed its first trip then appeared on its second departure from W'ton. Bus is 508.

One of the inspectors told me he took 3 Spectra's off the 126!  As Tony said 4021 was taken off and put onto the 2.

Also 634 was on the 126 then moved onto the 79! with 4538 coming off the 79 and going onto the 126 in 634's place.

And now 638 is on the 79!

See my notes  in unusual workings thread. 634 was not on the 126 before the 79, and there were not 3 Spectras on the 126, just 4021 doing one Birmingham to Wolverhampton journey. Vehicles may have been on the allocation sheet, but it doesn't mean they operated on there
