The 82 now is becoming stupid!

The 16:00 from wolves came to daisy bank timing point today at 17:01.
The 16:20 from wolves came directly behind it.
Only ONCE last week did the 16:00 actually turn up even then it was 15 mins late.

I PRAY THAT AFTER THIS TIMETABLE CHANGE THE SERVICE IS BETTER. I am fed up of waitng 20 mins for a bus that dosen't even turn up!

You're not the only one, Dom. The 13:40 ex Wolverhampton did not arrive. Had to catch the 14:00... Great service from the 82. Not. The reliability has gone down the hill.

I know the reliability is abit scewiff of late but its hardly as though we live in the middle of absolutely nowhere. Normally there's a perfectly valid reason for late running, but you'd be hard pressed to fibd a person whose bus has never been late

Looking at the 82 for the last two days there has been very little late running on it. The 13:40 is the same running board as the 16:00 and it appears 4001 had to go back to garage for some reason yesterday, hence the 13:40 missing and the 16:00 running late

Ashley - No shit, Sherlock(!)

Tony - The 82 was late this morning, it was supposed to arrive my bus stop at 08:20 towards Wolverhampton and arrive at 08:36. But it arrived at my bus stop at 08:26. It might depart the bus station on time but doesn't arrive on time at my bus stop.

I saw 4001 on 529 so it couldn't be on 82 today. Was there a bus serving that board today?

Buses don't have wings, they can't go over the top of traffic. They have to just sit there the only way around someone being late is to catch an earlier bus.

Ah! So that's where ADL have gone wrong :-)

Yes I know 4001 was on the 529 today, the query was about yesterday. It was 4012 today. As for the general moan about this service, between 06:00 and 15:30 there was only one bus that either left Wolverhampton.

As for your comment about your bus being 6 minutes late (hardly a disaster in the morning peak) I presume you are referring to 4017 which was 6 minutes late at Deansfield School. This bus left Dudley exactly on time at 07:30 and is due to Arrive Wolverhampton Bus Station at 08:36. It actually arrived at 08:37, so the driver still got you to your destination on time. There was actually only one arrival in Wolverhampton Bus Station this morning outside VOSA's 4 minute guideline and that was 4020 which got stuck at Chad Road, Dudley for 10 minutes

Thank you for your reply. Yes, you are correct about the location and it was 4016 I caught this morning.

i may be wrong but i think 4001 was sent out to replace 4604 which sounded rather loud and powerful (think exhaust blowing).

Well it was booked on school board 785/01 so was a swap

It appears RB 3/01 is now allocated a Trident instead of a B7. Any ideas why?

The extra 10mins to be added on after the changes on the afternoon 82's will help but will it be enough?
The major problem with the 82 and routes like it they get ignored and are left 'to run' it seams everybody is too busy concentrating on high frequency services like the 59, 1 and 126. Surely priority should be for less frequent services like the 81,82,25,27,28? for example. I feel especially sorry for passengers who use the 27 if a bus goes missing they have to wait an hour. These wingers who have to wait 15mins for a 1 or 59...Stop complaining!!!  :P :P :P

The 28's fairly reliable, as i have to get it from New Invention to my nans and as a back up for getting to school, should the 25 not turn up (which it doesn't do too often, thankfully)
The 25's reliability is alright, but it never shows up on time, normally 1/2 mins early or late
I agree that too much focus is placed on the 59, as it does not warrant a 4 minute frequency and could be reduced in frequency slightly, to about every 7 mins, same as the 529, and the freed up buses could be used elsewhere, and i can think of two people i know who will disagree till they're blue in the face that i'm wrong
Hypocrites are like flares... a right pain if one goes near you, and really annoying to get rid of...
