Yesterday (Mon 30th)

I saw a single deck X3 bulging at the seams and had to leave people.
Other day a single deck 7 again full to capacity leaving stops with people unable to board.

Will PBs double decker allocation be increased at all?

Quote from: windy miller on October 28, 2023, 01:40:30 AMIt appears that H1009 has been withdrawn due to engine failure
and has not turned a wheel in revenue since  last August  unless someone knows    different
Common sense should tell you a vehicle of that age would not be withdrawn even if it was for an engine failure, and 2 months isnt long off the road in the grand scheme of things.

If I am correct in thinking that these Walsall buses have to be filled up in Tyseley then that makes no sense whatsoever. Surely would have been better to base these at AG?

Quote from: 2900 on September 08, 2023, 09:30:48 AMit should be a platinum route its main corridor, 74/82/87 main bread winners at WB nothing else makes money i am told, 12s 13s  break even just. WB 4900s to my amazement overall still in decent shape.
Think a huge clampdown on non payers is needed. Some are now just simply strolling on paying nothing, showing nothing.

Absolutely disgusting. Stood in the road letting off fireworks and waving flags. No regard for people who want to use that road. Bought it to a gridlock. And emergency services?

Regarding the stop changes, they will benefit some and not benefit others. If you work in the Square Peg or nearby and live in Newtown you'll be rubbing your hands with glee.

Its defiantly not Handsworth, as Mike says nothing on that side of Birchfield Rd is Handsworth. Its just because its on the cusp of B20 which is mainly Handsworth.

It's borderline Perry Barr / Witton in my eyes.

Quote from: Stu on December 14, 2022, 07:25:25 PMIt's not like the engineers are paid a pittance. I just checked the careers part of the National Express group website.

Bus drivers start on £11.80 per hour, rising to £14.80 depending on experience or time served.

Engineering technicians can earn between £16.50 - £22.50 per hour dependent on experience.

In my opinion, a 10.1% pay increase is not to be sniffed at, and the engineers have to appreciate that the drivers are being offered a 14% increase in order to stop them leaving the company, and to attract more drivers to fill the current shortfall and then retain them.

It must also be pointed out that at this point in time, although union members have voted in favour of strike action, it hasn't been formalised yet, so this is just very much at the 'threat' stage, and may not actually happen.

Well worded.

Also bear in mind drivers and engineers are two different kinds of job. Drivers are out there dealing with the public, traffic, road users etc

Think he means the later batch (4830 upwards) with different dash layout
