Evening all
Having recently bought a roll of old Autofare WM Travel tickets on eBay, I started thinking about when the last bus in the WMT fleet was converted to Wayfarer. I think by 1990, possibly early 1991, the Autofare machines were all gone. I know the Lynxes and Mk2a Metrobuses were all delivered with Autofares.
Also, I remember Perry Barr having Wayfarers much earlier than the rest of the garages, presumably it was trialled there before full rollout. Even the Ailsas had these tickets and they were gone by 1987.
Any thoughts or clarifications much appreciated.

Hi all
Apologies if this topic has been covered already...I've been thinking about P and R reg fleetlines that lasted long enough to be painted in WMT silver. Think I'm right in saying that none of the 63xx (KON xxxP) batch made it, and only a handful of 64xx and 65xx. The lowest fleetnumber in silver by reckoning is 6443 ( excluding 4069 of course).  Thanks

Hi all
Apologies in advance if this has already been discussed...I gather the earliest 0405N buses 1515-22? were bodied by UVG, they look the same as the rest to me, but are there any subtle differences?

Hi all

Can anyone tell me just what was the difference between MCW and Park Royal bodies on the fleetlines in the 6301-6800/6866-7000 batches? I've seen so many photos and can never see anything to differentiate between them!

Any info much appreciated

Passing by PB depot the other day got me thinking. Is this the only NXWM garage to have bus services from another garage as well as its own, passing by it ie WA routes 934/935/936/997.in addition to PB 33,907.I think this might be so...anyone think if any other garages that have routes operated by other depots passing by the garage? Do any YW services go past AG depot for example?

Seeing the pics recently added of Metros 3010 and 3121 reminded me of the fact that the 2975-3124 batch all originally had side destination displays in addition to side route indicator. These were panelled over circa late 1990s...were the blinds unreliable or too much hassle to have to alter? Just curious :-)

Hi all, am I right in thinking that Acocks Green is the only Nx garage to have 100% of its fleet in the 'new' red and white livery, with no TWM liveried buses?
All the others still have a way to go...

National Express West Midlands / Fleetline 6974
November 23, 2013, 12:43:18 PM
Casting my mind back to circa 1990/91 I remember Perry Barr Fleetline 6974 came to grief on the College Road, opposite Moor Lane sports field whilst working an early evening 107 or 113. It ended up embedded in a garage of one of the bungalows on that stretch. Luckily no-one was badly hurt if I remember right, but I was amazed at how this had happened...as that stretch of road is straight and the bus had ploughed across a wide pavement and a front drive! Does anyone know anymore about this incident? Needless to say, 6974 did not work again after this.

National Express West Midlands / Presidents

Hi,my first post so apologies if this has been covered elsewhere :-)
Just wondered if the Plaxton Presidents are used on Sundays these days,or have they become like the Metrobuses during their twilight years, and used solely Mon to Sat?
Cheers
