My appeal is to any member who uses an iPad..........can you please explain to me how to access timetables.I can get to a list of routes or to a journey planner but cannot get a timetable.
Please explain in simple terms how this can be done...remember,USING AN IPAD.
THANK YOU FOR ANY HELP YOU CAN GIVE.

Arriva / Merger
June 28, 2015, 03:24:38 PM
I read on another forum that Arriva is to merge with Arriva The Shires for operational and engineering purposes.
Presumably this will result in the Midlands fleet being re numbered into the Shires fleet scheme.
No reason is being mooted T this stage, but the usual reason is to improve the financial position of one ,or both,of the Companies involved.

Arriva / New registration
May 28, 2015, 02:11:44 PM
I have just read on another forum that Arriva have registered a commercial service 90 Shrewsbury-Bridgnorth- Wolverhampton to start in July, presumably this will either compete with,or cause to be withdrawn, the tendered GHA route 436.It will also replace the 890.

Does anyone know of a map showing ONLY NXWM routes,ie not including routes of other operators?

Would it be legal to re-register any Mercedes Varios as Coaches, without standing capacity, and run them for a further period?

Arriva / Renumbering
December 10, 2014, 09:09:36 AM
I understand that the 38xx Scanias are being re numbered immediately into the 35xx block to make way for a batch of DAF pulsars from Arriva North West Ggreen Lane Garage.

Rotala / Royals fleet numbering
December 03, 2014, 03:16:57 PM
I have asked before but maybe everyone is as confused as me..........can anyone explain the royals fleet numbering system.
I realise that 10xxx,20xxx,30xxx,40xxx are used to signify coaches, single deck and double deck according to length. What I cannot follow is the apparently random numbers within these blocks with for example Darts,Solos etc seemingly jumbled up.

General Discussion & Questions / Local railways
November 20, 2014, 06:30:03 PM
My interests are currently solely bus based, but I read the railway comments also.
Can anyone suggest a book, website or anything which would enable a complete novice to gain an insight into the world of Midlands railways and their operations?
Thank you.

Stagecoach / Stagecoach timetables on website
September 15, 2014, 05:02:27 PM
Can anyone explain to me how to get stagecoach timetables on the internet?
I realise my computer skills are basic,to say the least, but all I seem able to find are journey planners which give ni indication of services available in a particular area.
Thank You.

Bugs and Errors / Arriva Midlands
June 10, 2014, 04:38:36 PM
Tony
Did you realise that Derby,Coalville and Bridgnorth are not shown in the list of garages at the beginning of the fleet list for Arriva Midlands?
Thanks,
Roy

The Archive / Amazing news

According to a leaflet through our door today,a new EU directive is banning any branding and naming of buses.
Buses in Birmingham are to be painted into a dignified dark blue and primrose livery and all dents, scratches and scuff marks repaired immediately.
All residents of Cannock will be required to fall on their knees, facing Sunderland, and chant a prayer of thanks to the great god Arriva, praising their wonderful vehicle allocating and their plentiful supply of new buses.
In sport,it is announced that Aston Villa have signed Ronaldo,Messi and Suarez, and appointed Pep Guardiola as thir new Manager.
A North Korean trillionaire  has bought Birmingham City and says he will loan them 50 quid if he has time to write the cheque before being beheaded by Kim Jong Un .
To solve the linguistic problems of the Pepe Mel era the new West Bromwich Albion coach will be fluent in Martian and Outer Mongolian though his English is a little rusty.
Wolves win the championship with 138 points........a club spokesman says ..now we are back to where we would have been if we had never sacked Mick McCarthy in the first place.

Then I woke up..."..........drat.

Hello Tony,
Presumably an oversight, but Derby, and also Hinckley are not shown in the garage list.
Also,Coalville and Bridgnorth outstations not shown but Stafford (an outstation) is.
              Thanks for a great site,
               Roy

National Express West Midlands / Arriva Fleet Lists
July 07, 2013, 11:38:27 AM
A question for Tony.
Although you show regular fleet list updates in the news section, these are not immediately altered in the Arriva fleet list.
I assume that this, like most things,is a shortage of time.
the recent updates, for example, are not yet in the list, would it be possible (or a pain in the whotsit) to mark the update list when it is recorded on the fleet list?
I realise I am being a pain myself,but ......just a thought.
Thanks for a superb site,
Roy

National Express West Midlands / bus registrations
June 22, 2013, 01:04:30 PM
Does anyone know why,or even if,new registrations now seem to be exclusively BX,having previously used a variety of B combinations.
Also,in the "Birmingham" series why have I never seen any cars registered BE,BH,BO,BR,BS or BY.
There may,of course ,be a simple explanation.

Rotala / rotala fleet numbersII
April 11, 2013, 08:18:52 PM
I have asked this question before but from the lack of replies I assume everyone is as unsure as I am.PLEASE is there any discernable logic to Rotala fleetnumbers.
Darts seem to be mixed in with Solos, and whilst I can see that the 2xxxx and 3xxxx are for different lengths, and the 4xxxx is for deckers any other logic escapes me.
There must be a system (probably) but can anyone please explain it.

First / After the takeover
February 26, 2013, 01:06:10 PM
Am I right in thinking that although First will have no presence in Redditch they will still run the 292 and the 303 in Kidderminster?
Are there any odd workings by Worcester garage on the 294/295 or any other odds and ends eg Bark Hill shorts on the 292?

This message is for Tony.
I realise my computer knowledge is less than that of Outer Mongolia, but is it possible to seggregate buses from a fleet list ie list only buses from (say) WB,PB etc,or from (say) BN or SY in the Arriva list.
At present I cannot see a way to do it,or even if it is possible,
Thanks (hopefully) for your explanation,
Roy

National Express West Midlands / length of buses
October 17, 2012, 07:31:07 PM
Is there a way of telling the length of Dennis Darts from their body or chassis numbers?
