I received one of Andys newsletters today, I must say I am a bit underwhelmed as much of an interest I have in public transport it seems that the mayor is an all out bus and train nut. The majority of his leaflet was about public transport. Surely the mayor should be appealing to the many not just users or potential users of public transport. He needs to broaden his horizons! I voted for a mayor not a transport boss! There is a lot lot more to fix across the boroughs.

As the supposed second city our transport public or otherwise is seriously flawed we are eclipsed by most Cities in the country let alone London and Manchester.

We need a concise tram network
We need bus priority to elliviate the strain
We need snow hill lines upgraded, electrified and given the TPH other lines have at off peak times.
We need a clean air zone that prices you out of your car and a public transport solution to assist it.
We need an expansive park and ride network.

The second city hasn't got the second best transport solution.

I bet you can travel 5 miles across central London quicker, easier and with less stress than you can the same in Brum.

The plan is ambitious but its the right thing to do and as people and industry switch to reduce their impact on the environment then I feel this puts these plan even closer to realisation.

Who cares who's came is on the rubber stamp? Embrace change!

I was on an NXWM one yesterday on the PN24 & to be honest I half expected it to collapse like a clowns car at a circus with just the driver left holding the steering wheel now that would be a sight in Siviters Lane the last time anything remotly similar happened was when the Nazis decided to drop a bomb on T W Lench and blew up the tennis courts instead!

That bus would have had a Driver trained and developed among the highest standards in the industry keeping the residents of blackheath safe, a euro 6 upgrade helping the residents of blackheath breath easy and multiple cctv cameras preserving evidence should anything unfortunate happen to you guessed it a blackheath resident.

Does your preferred Sandwell operator have any of those as standard fitted / utilised on / to their fleet ?

It's a rhetorical question.

It is isn't it so your point is @richie ? oh & The Mayor?, remember?, transport that isn't on rails? - Have you ever met him that is so uncanny perceptive oh and your so wrong the WMCA didn't know they do now!

The reverse of that has he ever met me?...... I would have thought all alterations and variations to service would be notified to TfWM before registration. Perhaps the breakdown of communication is within the offices of the WMCA not NX that you blame without merit or evidence.

I saw the wolves corp bus on X8 the other day and thought of you. I think it would be apt if the vehicle could  adorn a dedication plate to you..........

From My Blackheath Thread:
West Midlands Travel Ltd have just posted timetable changes on its website to the X10 3 3A14 14A and 24 from 26th January 2020 which even I wasnt aware of most odd as the change regards TfWM contracted services mind you the WMCA also do not seem to be aware of the changes registered with the Traffic Commisioner at short notice to its contracted services either until I just informed The Mayor. Its most odd indeed. We really do need the powers of the Traffic Commisioner transfered to the Metro Mayor to stop this arrogance and make West Midlands Travel Limited accountable to all.stakeholders and not just its shareholders.

https://nxbus.co.uk/west-midlands/information/service-changes/service-changes-from-26th-january-2020-2020-01-06

Of course TfWM would be aware! The Mayor would not remember every minor change to transport. It is possible he thinks blackheath is a lovely little village in London.

Diamond is a group company of Rotala which is a PLC listed in a sub group of the LSE, it has share holders and less regulation than a PLC the size of NX.

Rotala does not pay a living wage, has been party to numerous public enquires and their vehicle maintenance has come under question a number of times. It has an ageing fleet of multiple operator owned vehicles in various previous operator paint jobs. If you can't get the brand right I worry what other corners are cut.

Enjoy your cheap ticket on your cheap bus driven by underpaid Drivers.

Parish of Blackheath... the church is in Halesowen. Blackheath is in Sandwell.

Back to topic, I hope you enjoy your cut price diamond ticket but personally they couldn't pay me enough to ride in one of their buses!

Also as an open advocate as local jobs perhaps you should consider the living wage NXWM pay to thousands of people in the West Midlands. Your view on a bus route does not make the operator useless as in your view. You think the 13A is brill, it is the same operator.

The ticket I am refering to in my post  is for use within Sandwell & Dudley ONLY the town of Blackheath falls partly within Sandwell & partly within Dudley I am sure other residents of the two boroughs will take advantage of it but I am at a loss how does this ticket be of benefit to the whole of The West Midlands? You Explain As I Don't Follow?

Blackheath isn't Dudley? Nor is Rowley Regis. It falls fully in Sandwell. It's a bit of an oddball place like Halesowen......

Sounds like he needs to get a life! I can't believe the local rag and a national newspaper has bothered to run this!

The current Chiltern franchise has ran since 2002 so technically the Virgin statement is correct. It's how you interpreted it.

all totally true what tony has said about the batteries on a morning till fully charged and stop start only works when bus stopped handbreak on doors open

6918 does stop start when handbrake is applied not just at bus stops. Don't know if this is a trial or it's been set up wrong.

Stourbridge to Worlds End? Sounds like it's going to be successful.........

6117 was not taken off the 222, and has not been near the 222 today. It did a morning peak board on the 9 and then came out of garage as a change bus on the 297

It was allocated to the 222 from depot then sent to merry hill for relief.... Inspector put it on the 297 as he didn't want it on the 222
