Great pictures as usual Tone, and can I just mention how smart this livery looks, even though I am against using so many shades of colour.

Both were acquired via Ensign with numerous other single/double deckers currently in store/being prepared at Dagenham depot, I see it was First Group who snapped up the two B7RLE/Wright ex Transdev Lancashire United PL05UFR/S. Thought Rotala may have gone for those...

HYP was a bit rushed, I should have waited until it was the same angle as HYO to get the sun on the offside, but I had one of those days in the Potteries today. There were 5 vehicles allocated to Adderley Green I needed photos of, and I caught the bus from Stoke Station to Hanley Bus Station and all 5 arrived within 10 minutes, after hanging around to get some of the Wardles and First repaints I caught a 25 to Newcastle and HYP virtually followed my bus in to the bus station, hence why it was rushed, and HYO came around 5 minutes later. Only Potteries buses I currently need photos of are two of Newcastle's 'school bus' olympians. Although it was one I didn't need it was nice to see 24 year old all-Leyland Olympian out in all day service today

Will potteries get anymore deckers? The 20 route to crewe could be really busy at times

At one point sometime ago now they were meant to be having the last two 54 plate Gemini currently at Northampton (32629/30). This may still happen once the various route withdrawals take place

Not as old, but I think they look even older, and also out in all day service were these two Wardle (Arriva) Olympians

Seeing that pic of the First Olympian up against pics of the Wardles ones and the various Geminis and Enviros and Tridents and such really brings home to me what great buses those Olympians were, I really miss driving them. Look at the drivers position compared to that of say a Gemini? The steering wheel and dash were positioned brilliantly on those Olympians, and there were next to no blind spots. The screen nicely curved helping visibility, and they had a generally attractive look about them. What a contrast to today's deckers, I can't think of a single type I enjoy driving compared to these. Fair play to First for keeping these in serviceable condition, just goes to show what you can achieve with a decent maintenance regime. Especially given the problems with rot that these were liable to suffer.

Tony, which Potteries Olympians do you need photos of as I've got a few from my fortnight up there?

Do the First volvo olympians ever get used in normal service? When was the last time a double decker was used on the 101 to stafford?

All First's deckers are allocated to Newcastle, Adderley Green run the 101 so I doubt for a very long time. Yes the Volvo Olympians do get out occasionally, the service to Alton Towers is one of the most common in school holidays

On occasions I hate being pedantic but this thread is about mystery Dennis Darts which have been acquired and there are threads catering for Firsts ageing Leyland/Volvo Olympians.  Thanks!

When i was in that area for a fortnight earlier this month, i saw olympians mostly on the 25, 34, 72 and 98A. One afternoon 30033 did a short 34 journey from newcastle to hanley then changed on to a 20 to crewe. I didnt see the Citybus at all
