The first 2 GB Kites entered passenger service today!
Service 17 - 63502 & 63504 were the chosen ones. 63508 continues driver familiarisation running between depot, city and Beaumont Leys.

3 UID green Kites noted today 2 on the back of low loaders on the A50 Uttoxeter and 1 being driven on A500 in Stoke, presume on the way to Leicester

63347 has left for Potteries. The first single decker to leave Leicester following the introduction of electric buses to service. 63345 was also set to move to Potteries, but apparently it didn't make it and has been towed back to Leicester?
I guess this whole batch is likely next to go in coming weeks / months.

Second route for Electric bus is service 21.
63502 was chosen.

From what I can see..
Electrics have now been used on service 4, 16, 17, 21, 38, 38A, 54 & 88/88A.

11 are serviceable. 63521 entered yesterday on 21, and I managed to get a ride on it from Thurmaston and it was certainly great. It's got a louder front speaker than the rest (as you can hear it on the bus too).. it's supposed to alert passengers of a vehicle as electrics are quiet. It's like a gentle wine which increases tone as the speed of vehicle increases.

Any idea when next stop / audio / visual announcements will be active? The display that currently displays the time & date is essentially like the old star trak display, and there's a number of speakers next to the lights within the strips.

Further update:
routes 15, 25, 26 & 74 have now also been operated by electric.
This just leaves 13, (13W!), 14 & 14A to not have yet had an electric vehicle.

13W probably won't until the DD's arrive due to it becoming first 54 of the day. But surprised they haven't at least tried on the 14/A yet. Maybe this is an indication that they'll leave this route DD?
13 I guess requires them to programme the bus gate at Optimus Point? So probably take longer to do. I know when the E400's first arrived the driver had to call using the intercom at the bus gate for it to be opened! (Since been programmed however).

Correct as of today (6th June) no electrics have been onto service 18.

Although 14's branded E400 33696 has spent the afternoon on service 18 today.

And 63523 got a few journeys on 13 too..
This now just leaves 14/14A to yet to have an electric bus.
