Actually, the 110 timetable needs 7 buses so there SHOULD be one spare. There must be a fair bit of unreliability as everything else possible has turned up on the route recently - down to a West Brom bus at Tamworth for servicing.
Only Guy Arabs (a choice of 63) stopped at my front door 1957-1964!

Ah, I thought it needed all 8... I can see why Arriva seem to go for VDL over Volvo now though.

There were a few interesting workings today:-
West Brom 2140 worked the 12.15 Nuneaton to Lichfield 765 with the route number on a piece of paper in the window and "sorry not in service" on the display. The driver kept shouting "Lichfield". Merc 3007 was on the 14.00 Lichfield to Birmingham 112 and 3810 left Tamworth on the 13.10 110!
Out of interest all 4 B6s were out - 2613 on the 6, 2614 on a 3, 2615 on the 780 and 2616 on the 2.

I would imagine that means the brick throwing chavs on Park Farm estate are up to their tricks again!

I wouldn't be at all surprised!

Still a the odd Merc on it but it seems that the majority of the evening 8 services are B6.

When I was driving the 8's the little b******s used to hide behind the grass bank just as you go onto Park Farm from Wilnecote Lane, as it's covered in bushes to give them cover. You are then a sitting duck for about 300 yards of open road where you just used to be waiting for the bang.  Police never paid any attention despite several reports being made.

I've just passed West Brom 2148 working the 780 to Robert Peel Hospital.

Saw that too, I think, didn't catch the fleet number! They're quite suitable for that route I think  ;D
