The main building itself is still there, it's rarely used but there were plans to convert it to a market.

Oh yeah, it's a car park now. More of an overflow car park really.

If you have a look at the signs outside it tells you it is for a self storage company. A bus company wouldn't need a building that tall unless they were running the Night Bus to Hogwarts

That was a decent garage, buses were always well turned out.

Metrowest took over a number of Hartshill routes the following day

Was Metrowest owned by WMT by that point?

How come all the Hartshill routes didnt transfer to Metrowest & how come we got those long routes eg 311/312/313 Walsall to Stourbridge instead of Metrowest getting the 246 on its own?

(The same could be said of West Brom operating the 247 & 248 as well, operating a fair bit of dead mileage to its nearest point!)

245/6 was transferred to Walsall garage and later the 311/2/3 was created
Metrowest had work
West brom quinton and wolves also had hartshill work
Some good long established routes were lost with Black Country garage closures

Yes Black Country Buses Ltd (ta Metrowest) was owned by WMT by then. A number of the routes that were taken over from WMT Harstshill on closure, were operated out of Metrowest's Delph Garage.

The more marginal Brierley Hill & Merry Hill routes went to Metrowest, along with most of Dudley services, it was operated as a low cost unit, whilst the core / high frequency routes stayed under WMT and were operated out of West Bromwich & Quinton garages
