Sandy Lane

One of the X30's broken down outside the swimming baths this am. Service van in attendance

Sandy Lane

30164 out of service this pm with engine compartment lid open, outside Coventry baths (again). I assume another X30 in trouble.

Conspiracy theory - has one of the drivers started swimming lessons? Ho ho

It was overheating, it's original breakdown location was Walsgrave Road but it managed to make it to Pool Meadow afterwards.

If practice is like it was 24-12 months ago because of its age the lid would be opened and cold water sprayed onto the engine and fans and rad to cool it down then put back into service. Not sorting out the problem. Now before people start saying this never happens, it did I saw it with my own eyes when walking past Church Road West Garage with another bus a few years ago.

Simons response to why they are moving buses out of Redditch was a little daft and Im sorry Simon it is. Redditch does need spare workable buses so they are not all over worked and under serviced in the garage as the pollution of some of the fleet is high. I am sure buses with red lights on the dashboard should not be in service at all.

30128 (YJ12 GUE), Optare Versa H, is still in service in Redditch. I saw it on 19 May 17 on the S77 in the morning and then on the 70 in the early evening.

On 3 May 17 I also saw 30135 (YJ12 GUG), another Optare Versa H, working in Redditch.

I thought they had been withdrawn. Does anyone know if they have been permanently re-instated?

30128 (YJ12 GUE), Optare Versa H, was on the 70 this afternoon in Redditch. Maybe this vehicle, and 30135 (YJ12 GUG), continue to operate, or have been re-instated, without Simon being aware of it. He presumably can't know everything. Or, is there some other explanation?
