And ironically, the only journeys they haven't altered are the Sunday 56s which are by far the worst offenders! In the week it gets around 70 minutes running time, on Sunday the route is longer and it gets about 55 minutes. The only way you can keep to time is to break to the speed limit and pray that you don't pick many people up. George Eliot Hospital gets skipped on about 75% of journeys because by the time you get into Nuneaton to go out there, you should have already gone, come back and been well on the way out to Coventry again. Sometimes drivers actually have to skip an entire 56 journey altogether.
Then you get the Leicester 48 on Sundays, with it's pointless 40 minute layover time...

I do however welcome the early morning changes, with so many people buying week tickets which have to be sealed in the wallets (although that is due to decrease with smartcards replacing them) and that happening at almost every stop seriously impacts on service reliability, and the £20+£10 note for a £20.30 Megarider Plus at 4am palava, because nobody seems to learn that drivers don't have hundreds of pounds of change at that time in the morning! >:(

The changes to the lates though, they're pretty pointless, they have ample running time and you only run late if there's an issue or you do so on purpose.

There's currently a storm brewing at Nuneaton Garage at the moment with working hours. One example is that all bar 1 driver on the Tamworth rota have put in a driver's report saying they want off it and there was a Union meeting today with the drivers with regards to it. I was told that the meeting between the Management and the Union previously didn't go well, with industrial action mentioned.
With the changes, the Tamworth rota will cover approximately 2am-10pm. Being made to change shift times of such a great scale over and over isn't going to do your sleep pattern any good and that's hardly going to boost safety.
Looking at the 55 Timetable, has the extension to Horeston Grange been cut & replaced or are they trying to confuse everyone as usual with separate timetables?

Intriguing; http://www.warwickshire.gov.uk/blog/archives/alerts/bus-timetable-changes-4-january-2016
Service 55 will end at Nuneaton from 4th January. Horeston Grange & Milby Drive has "Low Usage" and they have seemingly given up on St Nicholas Park Drive with the arrival of Hinckley Bus Number 7.
Is anyone losing out with this change?

They registered a route and timetable change on the Nuneaton - Horeston Grange 4 which doesn't exist so I suspect it may be making a return which would make sense, I've heard Milby and Horeston were going to minibuses (Solos).

The resients of St Nicolas Park kicked off big time when the 48 stopped serving it, as did Tiverton Drive now on the 10, ironically it's rare to get passengers in both areas!

I've heard lots of bits and bobs on the Whitestone 7 getting the chop.

One thing I had confirmed to me by the union rep yesterday morning is that the Sunday George Eliot journeys will be taken off the 56 at last and stuck on the 48's cross-town 48's, which currently get 15 minutes layover in the Bus Station.

Earlier on 16174 was on 14:10 26 at Redditch. Saw 47651 arrive at 15:08 not in service. Not sure if this formed the 15:20 26.

jc

Olympian is not unusual on the 26, there were two on there on Wednesday i think it was, 16174 and 16460, both recent moves from Corby.

The 15:20 is an odd one, requires 2 vehicles, one decker and one solo, both are booked to run in service, the solo as a dupe, this being due to School Contract in Alcester, i believe a certain amount of seats need to be provided.

Olympians on the 26, X16 or any route are now 'noteworthy' workings.

Are the new Tridents now in service on the stratford on Avon tour
Acccording to the fleet card all 3 are now at Stratford; the DVLA has 17575 taxed from September (has anyone seen it in use, please?), with 17494/527 SORN at present.

Service 4 is replacing the service to Horeston Grange Hourly.

The 3 new sightseeing Tridents are not out yet. 17575 has no headlights at the minute and has various electrical defects. The others are not branded yet but are being prepared. The 3 of them are expected to be on the road in March 2016.

Interesting to see that there is no change to the 48 timetable yet, so Stagecoach will continue to serve St Nicolas Park on Sundays.

bensweeney14

No real need for the 48 for a timetable change.

The 55/56/57 need changing again, the new timetable is beyond pathetic!

It only serves St Nicholas Park Drive on Sunday, Hinckley Bus service 7 is the Monday - Saturday Service.

For some reason, 34593 KP04GZN of Nuneaton depot is now in the reserve fleet!
