Hi there
Here's the news in Edmonton about smart bus. It seems that there's more and more city adopting this new technology system. I think the wireless age is coming. People are getting used to monitoring and controlling everything by wireless system. So how about the bus in your city? Or even the bus in your company?

Here goes a part of the news:
The City of Edmonton is launching the first phase of its Smart Bus project with the use of a computer-aided dispatch (CAD) system called TransitMaster on Edmonton Transit System (ETS) inspector vehicles. The technology allows ETS personnel an enhanced approach to incident management by providing real-time information about incidents that may occur on City buses during regular operations."The technology delivers a more reliable, predictable and accessible public transit service for the citizens of Edmonton," said Lorna Stewart, ETS Director of Technology and Information Management. "This new tool offers ETS controllers and inspectors a state-of-the-art solution to manage incidents in real-time and ensure ETS customers experience a consistent, reliable and safe transit service."In January 2011, City Council approved $3.4 million to implement the first of three phases of the Smart Bus project within Edmonton Transit.
The major benefits of this new tool include the ability to:
Here's a demonstration of this kind of system
•   Quickly access pertinent information (route, operator information, location) for faster response
•   Create consistent reporting processes through the action plans attached to incidents
•   View and access vehicles and resources on a map
