The first deliveries of new buses aren't due until June at the earliest and not aware of any currently being due at WN

According to BN at the bottom of page 6 ( http://wmbusphotos.com/forum/index.php?topic=2616.msg89021#msg89021 ) WN isn't getting any new buses this year.

Spotted something rather interesting this evening....

4581 was pulling out of Wolverhampton Bus Station about 19:10 displaying '40-Walsall Via Willenhall' before changing to Not In Service.

Is there an explanation why the 40 is programmed into a WN bus?

Probably the same reason why 51, X51, 997 and 934 are programmed into Perry Barr buses. If a vehicle is quickly needed due to breakdown, then Wolverhampton could cover it until Walsall could get another bus ready

That was one of the things that sprung to mind. One explanation I also had was during the 26th Jan changes (When the 40 was changed to serve Portobello), NX/Centro and a local MP did a Publicity Launch which used a WN B7 so they have programmed it into WN's black box for that? (4581 was on 32's/3's today so was most likely midway through changing it to NIS)

He's the article with a WN B7 promoting WA's 40 route:

I wonder if it has the 41 on there as well then! In theory, the bus would do a round trip on the 41, before returning back to Wolves!

I've no reason to suggest why they would, but I wonder if it at some point in the future WN may end up operating the 8/89, 40/41 or 69 services, like how the 333 & 560 swapped garages a few times.

Not sure where to post this but as it's related to WN27 i'll post it here. i've had a newspaper through the door today from Ian Austin (Labour, Dudley North) according to a page inside they are working with residents to improve local bus services. 'Helping to enhance bus routes including the 22 & 27' anyone know anything about this ?

I'm guessing this is just new bus shelters
