Thank you both, appreciate the help to corroborate on my post.

I had the dubious pleasure, for the first time in many a year, of a round trip between Quinton (Amber Tavern) and Wolverhampton on the 126. Both buses, 4545 and 4591, were freezing and 4545 sounded none too healthy. It got me thinking, given the length of some of the journeys, and the mind numbing time it takes (not helped by most of the route being one main road that looks the same along most of the way), I'm sure it would benefit from some newer buses and / or and express version (I know this has been debated before).

Whatever happened to Dudley? It looked nothing like that last time I was there. Mind you DY garage was still open in those days.

Wobaston Roadworks shuttle? First I've heard of it?

As far as I know NX management don't have to tell you every change in Wolverhampton

I don't expect them to tell me everything although I have been informed about the shuttle anyway! Anyway I was referring its the first I have heard of the major roadworks on Wobaston that require a shuttle. I know there was some roadworks last week but not that bad

I agree with you that the route needs newer buses now; I'm not a great fan of the Tridents due to their inept heating most of the time (although 4342 is a good one) and the scruffy upstairs moulded blue front interior panels that need some sort of repainting or replacing.

There was a 43** trident on the 126 today, not sure which one

Did it look freshly repainted? If so it was 4310, if not it was 4313 as 4311 has been on the 59 all day/evening and 4312 is away for repaint :)

Merc 1662 was seen heading back to PL this afternoon with a man in orange behind the wheel and the front of the bus seemed to be riding very high almost bouncing along. 81 was in the dest box so must have been taken off to a suspension fault.

I love it when the suspension malfunctions! Always a laugh to see either the one side completely full of air or the thing high in the sky and handling like a boat or so low to the floor it'll give chav's something to aim for with their done-up Vauxhall Corsas!

The Volvo B7tl ALX400's when at BC seemed to have that regular fault, the ferry lift just would not lower. However, they seemed to be left in service as the platform would drop when requested but normal travelling height was increased. I've always wondered about some of the bridges in the city with the height only allowing a few inches but those B7's were only 14' 3".

One thing Daimler Mercedes Benz are good at is producing excellent Diesel engines, I do miss the sound of the 0405n for all its faults you couldn't knock that 12 litre engine.

Replaced 586 like i told Rob. 633 replaced it on the 11:30 departure.

Queen St buses are currently on diversion due to a car parked in a position where the buses can't get past (Coupled with roadworks making the road narrow)
