What?  That makes absolutely no sense at all.  How would killing a route off benefit it?
I didn't say killing a route off would benefit it. I said that the new Wolves-Walsall line could help the 529.

The 529 is quite a short route anyway.

The 529 probably has more short journies made on it than any other route

If anything, it could benefit the 529. This new train line could easily kill off the 529 like the Metro did with the 79.

No you didn't.  You said that "it could benefit the 529" and that "the new train line could easily kill off the 529."

Anyway, how could it help the 529?  Taking passengers away doesn't benefit NX in the slightest, as they are losing out in revenue.

This is what my thinking was about.

The Metro makes stops pretty much at every key point along the Birmingham - Wolverhampton route. You could look at it as essentially a limited stop bus service, albeit a lot quicker and frequent. This train will only be stopping at three points on the 529 route: Wolverhampton, Willenhall, and Walsall, all at a lesser frequency than the 529.

Willenhall train station will probably be a great benefit to the local community, especially if services other than the Walsall - Wolverhampton service call there. Even then, anyone who doesn't live within walking distance of the station will be catching the bus there, as I can't see where they'd put a Park and Ride.

There isn't any on the 4's anymore, ever since they lost the 'Super X' displays they went.
