How come the 1 doesn't serve Wolverhampton Bus Station but the Travel Express version does?

Travel Express don't serve the bus station, they terminate on Lichfield Street opposite The Moon Under Water.

Do they cover the same route?

The TE1 only runs between Wolverhampton and Tettenhall Wood only.

Does anyone know if any of the Hybrid Enviros are likely to be getting route branding for the 1, and if so how many?
Don't judge me until you've walked in my size ten shoes.

Am sure that if you use the bus station, you must pay for it, Doubt whether TE would do that.
Pensnett is my local garage. Favourite bus of all time is Fleetline 6360 (KON 360P).

Yes they do. Probably why Arriva don't serve it for their 70 service or Select for their 67/71 service to Cannock.

TEX use the bus station for their 2, 11, 32 & 33 services.  At a guess, i'd say the 1 doesn't use it because they wan't to keep to the same route that NX uses, as they don't serve the bus station either.  Using the bus station would add more time onto the journey as there are various hold ups, stand congestion e.t.c plus the charge they have to pay for using it.

They used to have branding when they were in the green and white livery, but not sure if they will brand them again.

All platinums have next stop announcements. The 1 has had them since 2013

The Next stop announcements only work if the driver changes the blind at the terminus, there was three occasions last week on the 907 when i had to ask the driver to change his blind, it happens on the 50 as well.

I noticed the X8 has them on the hybrids as well, how come this isn't the case for the BC ones when they stray onto a platinum service?

I'm assuming drivers intentionally don't change the blind then. I certainly know that plenty of drivers get pissed off with the irritating announcements.

Very rare to see BC X1/X2 and X20/X21/X22 platinums with incorrect blinds. Not sure about other routes.
Doubt people who use and have relied on the announcements would agree with your opinion of them being irritating. Previously on the Uni corridor there'd be about 7 or 8 people all requesting to be informed where to get off on the 98/99, think the announcements on the X20/X21/X22 are a much better system of informing people where they can alight.
And a man on the 94, unfamiliar with the area, earlier in this week missed his stop by about 6 stops, if there'd been onboard announcements he probably would have known where to get off.

Once I boarded a First Kernow 47 service and was told by the driver that he knew the stop I wished to alight at, but he wouldn't inform me when the bus got there "because it would be getting dark". Even there was still an additional few hours of daylight left.
Bet a lot of people would have been put off travelling by bus again after encountering him. Again shame there was no announcements in place there.

So lots of people clearly find them useful and they should be in use, in my opinion, so if that's the case its very poor.
It should also be expanded across all of the main corridors I personally think, no reason why it should only be in place on platinum routes.
