Avaliable to be used where needed... in particular the X8 & 529, plus 59 on Saturdays and Sundays.

Didn't word my initial question very well - I meant as they currently haven't received full platinum livery will they receive the new livery with the red diamonds or old livery with the red line at the top?

There's usually one on there so not unusual to see.

The afternoon working that comes off a school, can be pretty much any decker going spare. It does two i54 to Wolverhampton trips (inbound only) and doesn't go over the Staffordshire border. Double deckers do not get to Stafford (only a couple have snuck there in the time the 54 has been operating.

There seems to be a few more Platinums going spare since the changes (especially on a Saturday when the PVR is lower)

What's the strangest thing that has appeared on the 54?

6791. Something happened between Wolverhampton and Stafford on the trains a couple of years ago.. to cope with the demand; a bus and driver coming in off a 255 (now the 15) covered a round trip to Stafford to cope with the demand. I believe 4585 once got to Stafford too (breaking down along the way, again... a couple of years ago).

A small handful of Volvo B6LE/Wright Crusaders made it to Stafford during their later days.

I do remember seeing a picture of a platinum at Wolverhampton Stafford street on the 54 which looked rather busy

there was once a rare occurance where a platinum went to Stafford, as there had been no buses for 2 hours due to severe winds bringing trees down on both 54 and the old 154 route. other than the usual e200s, and b7s, there has been spectra 4002 go all the way to Stafford, a trident 45xx iirc, and b6 620. any double decker of all types have seen the pm "dodgers" after the school service where they just run between i54 jlr stop through to wolves

Having been following route 1 since I started buses in January I have seen all of 5401-5421 except 5409 & 5412. I believe 5409 could be down to it being rebuilt from hybrid electric bus status? (forgive me I am a newcomer) but 5412? am I just repeatedly unlucky?

5412 is long term VOR. It hasn't been on the road for nearly a year.
